Flamenco in the Sun Presents an Inspirational Dance Program
The Art, Beauty and Mystery of Flamenco Return to South Florida
Flamenco in the Sun 2010 returns in its eighth year with a rich calendar of events from July 17th through August 1st in several venues spanning traditional tablao, dance classes, film, dance concert, plus for the first time, a Sevillanas Dance Contest, and much more.
Flamenco in the Sun 2010 offers something for everybody – starting with the Festival Opening, Café con Leche – free and open to the public — on Saturday, July 17th from 7 PM to 11 PM at the 1310 Gallery Artist Lofts, 1310 SW Second Court, Ft. Lauderdale. We start with a photographic exhibit of contemporary Flamenco by artist, Sharon Swift, and continue with the Flamenco Party of the Summer, free to the public, at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday, July 22 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. There you can enjoy live music, tapas, wine and a Sevillanas Dance Contest.

An exhibit of Flamenco stories told through the photographs, and costumes of Carla & Miguel Ochoa and Fina Escayola in the historic New River Inn at the Ft Lauderdale History Center
Exhibit runs from July 20 to Aug 1 from 12:00-4:00 pm.
Come meet these artists and hear their stories on Thursday July 29 from 5:00-6:30 pm.
