The first Andrea Castillo Foundation first Starlight Scholarship Benefit Reception, celebrating the memory of Andrea Castillo and her love for education will be held on October 17, at the Raleigh Hotel in Miami Beach.
Andrea always loved education and had wanted to be a teacher since she was a little girl. That dream was shattered on October 21, when Andrea died as a result of a car crash at the age of 21.
To honor her memory, friends and family members created the Andrea Castillo Foundation, which aims to support and encourage others who also love education and are studying to become teachers. The Andrea Castillo Foundation has established scholarship with Miami-Dade College and Florida International University to create scholarship opportunities for students who are pursuing a degree in education.
During the first Starlight Scholarship Benefit Reception, the first recipients of the scholarships will be honored and members of the community that have helped create the scholarships, helping honor Andrea’s dream, will also be recognized.
