Born in Santiago de Cuba. Hilario Bell received his first musical education at the Vocational Art School â€œJose Maria Herediaâ€. Later he entered the Professional Conservatory of Music â€œEsteban Salasâ€. In 1995 he served as the musical director of â€œMurallaâ€. Once graduated in 1997 he reached the dream of every musician, to share the stage with top bands and orchestras playing timba, jazz and fusion.
He worked as a professor of music at the conservatory of music, and in 1998 became part of the group â€œHabana Ensembleâ€. He traveled to Mexico in 1999 playing with Compay Segundo; during that time he started his own musical production â€œHILARIO BELL & CYMBALSâ€. He also performed with Ricardo Montaner, Osmany Paredes, Dave Valentin, Amauri Gutierrez, Jane Munet, Don Grusin, Fran Quintero, Guaco and others.
He now resides in Miami, where he has recorded and shared stage with great figures like Paquito de Rivera, Giovanni Hidalgo, James Galway, Joshua Bell, Cachao, Luis Enrique, Willi Chirino, Lucresia, Ricardo RodrÃguez, E.B.S. Band, Bobi CarcasÃ©s, Roberto CarcasÃ©s, Armando Manzanero, Pancho CÃ©spedes, Juanito MÃ¡rquez, German Piferrer, and Candido Camero among others.
With the group â€œTiempo Libreâ€ he also received a GRAMMY nomination for â€œBach in Havanaâ€. He has released one CD â€œLive at E.B.S. Jazz CafÃ©â€, and his latest, â€œNeshamahâ€, will soon be released in July of 2011.Thank you for using Soul Of Miami!
