For the first time ever, this year’s YoungArts winners from across the state of Florida and alumna Yara Travieso, 2005 Winner in Dance, will be sharing the stage to bring you YoungArts Florida Celebration 2011– a FREE public performance hosted at master architect Frank Gehry’s newly built New World Center which will showcase how collaboration across disciplines can strengthen an artist’s work.

The event will begin with the 2011 YoungArts Florida winners showcasing their work through a collaborative multidisciplinary performance and exhibition using dance, film, music, voice, jazz, theater, visual art and photography. Afterwards, YoungArts alumna Yara Travieso will showcase her newest dance collaboration, SET, which will be premiered at the New World Center on May 11, and provide a behind-the-scenes glimpse at production by premiering a short documentary.

By watching two generations of alumni to perform, the audience will discover how collaboration can offer an artist the opportunity to step out of his comfort zone and strengthen and expand his artistic craft.
