The OUTshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival Spring Edition presents its Men’s Latin Spotlight – the international premiere of An Island Away From You (A Una Isla Deti) (Spain, 2025), a romantic comedy, at 7 p.m. on April 25 at Silverspot Cinema – Downtown Miami. An afterparty will follow the screening.
Harry is an uptight chef whose perfectly planned life implodes when he’s left at the altar. Desperate for a reset, he’s dragged by his best friend to her sunny homeland of Gran Canaria, where nothing goes according to plan—in the best way. Between beach days, bold flavors, and a cast of charming locals, Harry starts to loosen up and fall for the island itself. But the biggest surprise arrives in the form of his best friend’s handsome, charismatic father. What begins as a vacation turns into a flirtatious, heart-opening comedy of errors, forcing Harry to rethink love, age gaps, and happily-ever-afters.
In Spanish with English subtitles, the film runs 102 minutes.
