The Roxy Theatre Group (RTG) and the Greater Miami Youth Symphony (GMYS), two youth arts programs, are ready to take Miami on a magical carpet ride of musical theatre with Disney’s Aladdin, Dual Language Edition. Representing over 25 schools and colleges in Miami-Dade County, the cast and orchestra of 70 students, ages 12-22, bring to life this classic and beloved tale.

Set in the royal kingdom of Agrabah, Aladdin, Dual Language Edition unfolds in an extraordinary story of true love and adventure, complete with the Genie of the lamp, Abu and a flying carpet. Thanks to The Children’s Trust, GMYS provides a live orchestration for the performance that will spellbind audiences with well-known melodies such as A Whole New World, One Jump Ahead and Arabian Nights.  GMYS is dedicated to training young musicians, ages 5-18. Music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice and book by Jim Luigs and Jose Cruz Gonzalez.

“Playing Jasmine in this production of Aladdin is a childhood dream come true. Growing up, Jasmine was always my favorite princess and now I get the chance to be her. This is any young girl’s wish and I am honored to bring this character to life in this production by The Roxy Theatre Group,” said Michelle Negrin, 19 yrs. old, attends Miami Dade College.

“The Roxy Theatre Group’s productions which I have seen, are always Broadway material. I was blessed to play the role of “Tony” when The Roxy Theatre Group presented the musical West Side Story three years ago and am excited to be part of this show. It is a great honor to have the opportunity to once again work under the direction of this incredible performing arts organization,” said Kevin Youngman, 19 yrs. old.
