More than 300 of South Florida’s design visionaries and trendsetters celebrate grand opening, support Honey Shine Mentoring Program

On Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, Kreiss, the internationally acclaimed home furnishings and design powerhouse that pioneered the “California Look,” celebrated the arrival of its Design District showroom, located at 49 NE 39 St., with an in-store soiree hosted by retired NBA All-Star Alonzo Mourning. Benefiting Honey Shine Mentoring Program, the event attracted more than 300 of South Florida’s trendsetters and design elite. “I’m thrilled with the turnout and reception for the grand opening of our Design District location,” said Loren Kreiss, Managing Director of Kreiss Enterprises. “The crowd’s palpable energy, coupled with the inspiring support for Honey Shine, made this a truly memorable occasion.”

While enjoying eco-friendly cocktails courtesy of VeeV, hors d’oeuvres by MG Events and beats by DUTCH, guests including Honey Shine Founder Tracy Mourning, photographer Iran Issa Khan, outdoor living designer Fernando Wong, NIBA Home owner Nisi Berryman, style icon Elyze Held, philanthropist Jennifer Valoppi, Miami Beach Commissioner Michael Gongora, and socialites Barbara Becker, Kate Kreiss, Amaris Jones, and Fabian Basabe, among others, browsed the new 3,800-square-foot showroom’s casual yet elegant handmade furniture, fabrics, finishes, fine linens and accessories.

A fourth-generation family business, Kreiss originally produced the furniture collection that became known throughout the world as the “California Look” for its casual elegance and timeless style. Bold, clean lines, a neutral color palette and a generously proportioned scale emphasize the comfort and carefree spirit of true luxury. Handcrafted from natural materials, including hand-carved woods, organic patterns and textures, and earth-inspired colors and hues, Kreiss furnishings serve as a warm, inviting backdrop for those who enjoy the privileged, active and free-spirited lifestyle of the quintessential Californian.
