Miami New Drama opens its 10th Anniversary Season with the world premiere of Gandhi and the Jew at the historic Colony Theatre. Written by Harley Elias and directed by Margot Bordelon, the play uncovers a surprising and profound bond between a young Gandhi and a Jewish architect named Hermann Kallenbach. Together they help invent the philosophy of nonviolence — but as history darkens, their shared ideals fracture, setting them on a collision course. Drawn from years of research and hundreds of unpublished letters, this moving historical drama – which is part of Miami New Drama’s Jewish Play Initiative – highlights a friendship that changed the world and enduring human connection, inspiring audiences with hope today.

Gandhi and the Jew runs November 5–29, 2026.
