Taste of the Gardens, held multiple times within the year, draws the participation of hundreds, with all proceeds going toward the betterment of local charities

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. (Sept. 14th, 2023) – Shops at Pembroke Gardens (SPG), a premier shopping and dining destination centrally located in the heart of Pembroke Pines, announces the return of their highly anticipated event, Taste of the Gardens, taking place 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, September 19. The ticketed event features over 15 restaurants, drawing hundreds of visitors to enjoy a wide variety of culinary delights.

Over the last 10 years, Taste of the Gardens has partnered with the Miramar Pembroke Pines Chamber of Commerce to provide guests a multi-layered experience that includes tastings, music, entertainment, prize drawings and much more. With SPG having an impressive roster of restaurants, bars and fast dining alternatives for all groups, guests will enjoy bites and spirits from tenants that include Havana 1957, Sirocco, Brimstone, Village Tavern, The Spot, Blue Agave, RA Sushi, Misha’s Cupcakes, Brass Tap, Brio and many more.

Taste of the Gardens takes pride in delivering all proceeds generated from event ticket sales to local nonprofits, and guests can select their preferred charity after the purchase of each ticket, ensuring that their participation supports causes close to their hearts. Over the past decade, Taste of the Gardens has raised more than $75,000 dollars, contributing to the growth and prosperity of the community. This year’s charity partners include: Chamber Scholarship Fund, Children’s Harbor, Kiwanis Club of Miramar/Pembroke Pines, American Cancer Society, Pooches in Pines, Voices for Children, Westcare/Village South and Falcon Foundation.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, History Fort Lauderdale, proud steward of our community’s past by making our heritage accessible and engaging to residents and visitors, will present the return of “Viva Fort Lauderdale: Celebrating Hispanic Art & Culture” from Friday, September 15 through Sunday, October 15. This fine art and sculpture exhibit celebrating the contributions of our multicultural Latin community will feature work from local artists including Leonardo Montoya (Colombia), Lifrancis Rojas (Venezuela), Isabel Perez Salazar (Venezuela) and Florencia Clement de Grandprey (Spain).

History Fort Lauderdale is proud to host a variety of engaging multicultural experiences, year-round. It seeks to bring awareness to the community through both traveling exhibits and multiple permanent exhibits including “Women Trailblazers,” “Fort Lauderdale – the Early Years,” “The African American Experience,” “Fashion & Musical Theatre,” “From Dugouts to Dream Yachts: the story of boatbuilding along the New River,” Seminole Arts & Culture,” “New River Archaeology,” and, most recently, “Take PRIDE, a retrospective on LGBTQ life in South Florida.” The nonprofit museum also hosts an artists’ collective collaborative space.

History Fort Lauderdale is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. with docent guided tours, daily, at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. Group walking tours are available upon special request. Admission is $15 for adults; $12 for seniors and $7 for students (through age 22 with a valid student ID). Admission is free for members, military, and children ages six and under.
