A conversation between two AT&T Presents: Untold Stories directors who share the same goals: reaching wide audiences with their first feature films and introducing the world to unseen and nuanced perspectives. Directors will share insights on their artistic processes – from idea inception through production and an ultimate festival premiere. As one director (Nardeep Khurmi, LAND OF GOLD) is seeing their work premiere for global audiences, the other (David Fortune, COLOR BOOK) is preparing for pre-production. They will share their successes, insights, and creative questions for each other.
A portion of the conversation will be spent introducing the audience to the AT&T Presents: Untold Stories program, providing context and advice for creating an application and pitch worthy of a million-dollar prize.

MIAMI, FL. — El talento cinematográfico y la diversidad cultural de Cinema Venezuela Venezuela se apoderan de The Bill Cosford Cinema de la Universidad de Miami para presentar su séptima edición. La muestra de cine venezolano se ha convertido en una referencia y cita obligada para los amantes del séptimo arte que hacen vida en la Ciudad del Sol.
El evento, que tendrá lugar del 7 al 10 de diciembre, ofrecerá a los asistentes una programación excepcional que incluye una selección de las producciones más recientes y destacadas de Venezuela, tanto largometrajes como cortos, charlas, paneles de discusión y la presencia de renombrados directores y actores venezolanos.
En esta edición, Cinema Venezuela 2023 honrará la trayectoria artística de la venezolana Lupita Ferrer, una de las primeras actrices latinas en llegar a Hollywood y quien además ha abierto el camino para que otras tantas artistas hispanas.
Indira Leal, directora de Cinema Venezuela, expresó que la edición de este año tiene dos grandes instituciones que han sido fundamentales para su realización. El condado de Miami Dade quienes le otorgaron su primer grant; y la Universidad de Miami, en la figura de la Unión Venezolana (UNIVEN), organización estudiantil cuyo propósito es unir a la comunidad venezolana en el campus.. “Cinema Venezuela no sería posible sin el apoyo de ambas instituciones y de todos nuestros patrocinadores. Estamos encantados de compartir la riqueza de la cultura cinematográfica de nuestro país natal con la comunidad de Miami”, señaló Leal.

Memphis hip-hop Legend DJ Paul of Three 6 Mafia will kick the festivities off in grand style on Thursday, December 7, followed by recent Grammy Nominee Freddie Gibbs, who will be performing a rare headline play on Friday, December 8. Miami’s iconic downtown hotel, InterContinental Miami continues its annual Miami Art Week participation with Artistry of the World, a showcase of international artists, painters and sculptors curated by famed artist Noel Santiestaban. Cuban-born Santiestaban moved to the United States in 2000 and has continued to pursue his passion for arts ever since. He is most known for his sculptures and painting and his work is found in private collections around the world, and Santiesteban Print Schmidt Workshop.
Kicking off on Thursday, December 7 with a free and open-to-the-public preview from 6PM to 10PM the exhibit features the work of fifteen global artists. Highlights include work from acclaimed Cuban photographer and painter Diana Rubi and father/son performance art exhibition from Noel Morerz Cruz and Marcelo Mora Mugarra. Art Miami is returning to Miami Art Week, along with sister fair CONTEXT Art Miami, on Wednesday, December 6th through Sunday, December 10th, 2023. Miami’s longest-running international and contemporary art fair, Art Miami will continue to showcase the most significant artworks of the 20th and 21st centuries, offered by a selection of the world’s most respected galleries.
