Omakase Dinner with Chef Paul Qui 7/24/19

Omakase Dinner with Chef Paul Qui
Wednesday, 07/24/2019 – 07:00 pm – 09:00 pm
Pao by Paul Qui
3201 Collins Ave,
Miami Beach, Florida 33140
Cost: 95

It’s officially summertime, and Chef Paul Qui and his culinary team are firing up their grills for a Texas-style barbecue on Pao’s ocean-view terrace for an omakase cookout that will sizzle your senses.

Guests are in for ribs, brisket, chicken and crab prepared in creative ways by James Beard award-winning chef Paul Qui. “Chef Qui intertwines his Filipino flavors, and some of his Japanese techniques, with classic Texas BBQ ingredients,” says Benjamin Murry, Pao’s chef de cuisine. “This will definitely give diners flavors they’ve never had before and that’s what makes it so exciting.” Think smoked and charred, tangy and sweet—all the classic foundations and flavors of a southern barbecue—but with interesting twists.

The epicurean adventure will unfold around an intimate communal table where diners will enjoy a complimentary sake cocktail before diving into a multi-course menu. Binchotan-grilled specialties, inspired by the 2,000-year-old Japanese tradition of charcoal-based cooking, will be paired with optional flights of sake and Japanese whiskey.

Cirque du Soleil returns to Sunrise with Corteo, their latest and most enchanting arena production 7/24/19 – 8/4/19

Cirque du Soleil returns to Sunrise with Corteo, their latest and most enchanting arena production
Wednesday, 07/24/2019 – 08/04/2019 07:30 pm – 09:30 pm
BB&T Center
1 Panther Pkwy,
Sunrise, Florida 33323
Cost: $59.00 – $190.00

Corteo, the latest and most enchanting Cirque du Soleil’s arena production is now touring in North America. The show will visit Sunrise at the BB&T Center Arena from July 24 to August 4, 2019 for a limited run of sixteen performances. This unique production, directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, first premiered in Montreal under the Big Top in April 2005. Since then, the show has been a great success and has amazed 8 million people in 19 countries on four continents.

Corteo, which means cortege in Italian, is a joyous procession, a festive parade imagined by a clown. The show brings together the passion of the actor with the grace and power of the acrobat to plunge the audience into a theatrical world of fun, comedy and spontaneity situated in a mysterious space between heaven and earth.

The clown pictures his own funeral taking place in a carnival atmosphere, watched over by
quietly caring angels. Juxtaposing the large with the small, the ridiculous with the tragic and the magic of perfection with the charm of imperfection, the show highlights the strength and fragility of the clown, as well as his wisdom and kindness, to illustrate the portion of humanity that is within each of us. The music turns lyrical and playful carrying Corteo through a timeless celebration in which illusion teases reality.

The concept and disposition of the stage bring the audience in a theatrical atmosphere like never seen before in Cirque du Soleil arena shows. The set curtains, inspired by the Eiffel Tower, and the central curtains, which were hand painted, give a grandiose feel to the stage. This sets the tone for the poetry of Corteo.

The cast of Corteo includes 52 acrobats, musicians, singers and actors from all around the world.
