Join us under the frequencies of the New Moon as we set our intentions for the month. Experience a guided breath-work, a deeply immersive sound journey, and community intention setting tea ceremony. The goal of the experience is to explore self-inquiry and self-discovery in order to clearly define future intentions. Limited spots available.
The experience is paired with the exclusive use of SOUND OFF noise canceling personal headphones. This allows each participant to individually TUNE IN, focusing on the experience occurring solely in their body – guided by the clear instructions from the ritual leader, powered by meaningful beats and sounds

Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade is hosting its 54th Annual Golf Classic in Memory of Charles “Bebe” Rebozo on Monday, March 15, 2021. The tournament offers players the chance to play for fun or at a competitive level. Raffle prizes, complimentary lunch and open bar is included with sponsorship packages and the purchase of a foursome.

Proceeds will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s many positive programs, including its after-school programs, homework assistance, mentoring, computer training, social skills, dance, arts and crafts and summer and athletic programs, for area youth who need them the most. The 54thAnnual Golf Classic is expected to raise significant funds, as its the signature event for Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade.

Members of the Golf Classic committee are Clint Gulley, Liana De Mena, Willie Ho, Anthony Lopez, Alex Quevedo, Fred Rebozo, Ed Soto, Marc Suarez, Ben Walker and Special Events Chair, Olga Guilarte. Committee members will help steer this popular long-standing Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade fundraiser.

Registration will begin at 10 a.m. and the tournament will start at 12 p.m. Lunch and beverages will be available throughout the day.

Foursomes are sold out on the day of the tournament, but foursomes can also register for “Play Your Day” for $1,600 before Feb. 15, if purchased after it will be $2,000, where guests can schedule their tee time at the exclusive, members-only Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club any time between March 16, 2021 and March 15, 2022.

The day will conclude with an award ceremony and a raffle draw where guests will enjoy light bites and an open bar. Raffle prizes include hotel and vacation packages, golf aficionado memorabilia and more. All golfers will receive a commemorative golf shirt, umbrella and golf balls. Parking, green fees, cart, range balls and lunch are all complimentary. Guests are asked to adhere to the country club casual dress code or golf attire.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade is following all CDC guidelines including social distancing efforts and mandatory face masks for entry.

In honor of Women’s History Month, History Fort Lauderdale and The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale will present “Women Trailblazers: Champions of Change – Broward County,” a photography exhibition, March 4 -31. The exhibit, to be displayed at The Galleria (2414 East Sunrise Blvd), will showcase six prominent women of today who are proponents of change along with historical female predecessors who helped to pave the way for our community.

This engaging 40-image exhibit will celebrate the contributions of outstanding women of today including Kareen Boutros, executive director of Broward Workshop; Lori Chevy, market president of Bank of America; Heather Havericak, CEO of Broward Health Medical Center and Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital; Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson, Ph.D., president and CEO of Broward Community Foundation; Stacy Ritter, president and CEO of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau and Burnadette Norris-Weeks, Esq. of Austin Pamies Norris Weeks Powell, PLLC and founder of the Women of Color Empowerment Institute.

Past pioneering women to be highlighted include Betty Mae Tiger Jumper, author and founder/publisher of the Seminole Tribune; Dr. Susie Holley, prominent philanthropist; Edee Green, award-winning journalist and one of the founders of Kids in Distress in Broward County; Ivy Cromartie Stranahan, prominent suffragette, first school teacher in Fort Lauderdale, philanthropist and part founder of the Fort Lauderdale Historical Society (now History Fort Lauderdale) and Easter Lily Gates, Broward County’s first woman president of the State Supervisors of Elections, among others.
