Join celebrity host Kelly Blanco of NBC 6 at Slow Food Miami’s “Snail of Approval” Tasting Party on Thursday, March 14, 2019. Regarded as Miami’s Freshest Night Out, the annual celebration will be held from 7PM to 10PM at The Palms Hotel & Spa, home to trend-setting farm-to-table concept Essensia Restaurant & Lounge. This year’s unforgettable evening under the stars is possible thanks to partnerships with The Palms Hotel & Spa, Whole Foods, Mercedes-Benz of Coral Gables, JetSet Sounds, Just Ask Boo, The Scout Guide Miami, Menu Men Inc., and Brustman Carrino Public Relations. The tasting party will unite dozens of the city’s top chefs, and local growers and producers for a night of tasting while honoring Miami’s food scene. New this year, Slow Food Miami will be presenting the Lifetime Snail Award to a special member of the Miami culinary community – Chef Allen Susser of The Café at Books and Books – for his longtime commitment to sourcing local and support of the Slow Food movement.

General admission tickets are $98 per person in advance; $128 per person at the door. Tickets can be purchased here with all event proceeds benefiting Slow Food Miami’s Edible Garden Program. VIP Garden Sponsor tickets are $750 and includes a garden box for a local school and free entry to Freshest Night Out with early admission at 6:30PM.

Yué is the name of all the women who ever invest and occupy with their body a piece of public space: in this case, PAMM’s waterfront. Myriam Soulanges and Anne Meyer found the bodies and gestures of Yué thanks to stories of women they met during residencies in French Guiana and Guadeloupe. Those stories are now shared with other women from the Caribbean and from Miami. Myriam Soulanges and Anne Meyer show a work of feminine/artistic engagement in a tormented context of social movements and climate change. Hurricanes Irma and Maria have also influenced Yué#sorority, and later on visual artist Guy Gabon joined the project. Forced migrations increase women’s vulnerability and exacerbates inequalities. They need our attention today. The choreographic thread of Yué#Sorority is reconstructed in Miami with volunteer performers who have been meeting up for two weeks in Little Haiti Cultural Center in Little Haiti and the Koubek Center in Little Havana during dance and sewing workshops with the artists.

Microtheater Miami presents a journey throughout the Magic City from the 80s to the present. An adventure with no filters nor fiction; as lived by its own people. You’ve probably run into some of them, you might even know them.

Real stories of #love and #craziness, #parties and #dancing, #exile and #hurricanes transformed into SEVEN 15-MINUTE PLAYS presented inside our shipping containers. Are you ready?

A trailblazing project with Miami as its protagonist, created by the Spanish director and playwright Lucia Miranda.

Second Season of ‘Macro director for Microtheater’, a project made possible thanks to the Knight Arts Challenge Grant 2017, an initiative of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
