It’s time to put on your dancing shoes! MegaRumba Latin Music Festival is back on July 20, 2019, and taking over Miami with an all-day event. With the hottest Latin Artists performing in past years, SWARM brings back this festival with an even better and more diverse lineup. This year, MegaRumba presents to you “Rumba Around Latin America” where patrons can celebrate and immerse themselves in the different latin cultures with unique arts and crafts, food, drinks, and music.
From past performers like Maluma, Danny Ocean, Grupo Niche, Jorge Celedón, Reykón, ChoquibTown, Victor Manuelle, Fonseca, Sofía Reyes, Becky G, among other Latin Billboard winners, Latin Music lovers all over South Florida are in for a treat. The concert will feature Lenier, the hottest cubaton artists of the moment, as well as artists like Domino Saints, Los Adolescentes, Sonora Carruseles, Periko & Jessi Leon, Diego Val, Manu Manzo, and El Arka to name a few!
Mega Rumba will be a full day event, throughout the day, expect to shop local and Latin American goods from a variety of countries at the Wynwood Marketplace. Guests are encouraged to explore over their palate with an array of food trucks representing countries like Cuba ,Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, some vendors to check out this year include: Toby’s for arepas and pinchos, Con Sabor Latino for churrasco or kebabs, Tumbao for its Latin Asian cuisine, Tierra del fuego LLC for Argentinian steak sandwiches, Los Chamos for everything Venezuelan, La Cocina del Gordo for more latin dishes, Potato Corner for flavored french fries, El Shaddai Latin Grill for Puerto Rican dishes, Bistro Burger, and Ice Cream Distributors of Florida or Lucky Slushy to satisfy that sweet tooth. Myers grew up in Columbia, Maryland and began his comedy career at the age of 18 at Winchester’s Pub in Baltimore.[1] In 2005 he won the “Funniest Person in Baltimore” contest.[2] Myers later moved to Florida where he was named 2011 Florida’s Funniest Comedian.

Dustin Chafin was born in a doublewide trailer in Kilgore, Texas; son of a used-car salesman and a beautiful and wild hippy child; grandson of Choctaw Native Americans: Dustin Chafin is both Cowboy and Indian.
He’s made many television appearances including HBO and Comedy Central. You can see him performing live in Wynwood for one night only!

Special Guest Appearance by David Del Rosario
David Del Rosario has always been a comedic performer. Described as a freeform high energy character driven comic with an edge, in 2005 he had already performed improv and his first stand up comedy acts alongside Comedy Central Present’s very own Al Jackson. In 2009, David created the live sketch comedy show “Category Seven” and then joined Just The Funny Theatre in 2010. In 2011, as a member of the JTF Theater main stage cast; he was given the ability to redefine sketch and improv comedy as a member of the team “Special In A Bad Way”. The group has gone on to receive notoriety in The Miami Herald & The New Times.

Paco Lopez President of No Limit Entertainment, known for his work with Marc Anthony, Pitbull, Wisin & Yandel, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Jennifer Lopez, Maluma, Mana, Laura Pausini, Residente, and many more, brought together the bands together to present one of the most iconic concerts in Wynwood!
Cultura Profética, originally from Puerto Rico and the headliners of the night, have reached over 2 million Spotify streams a month and is one of the few Latin American bands to record a “Spotify Single” independently. Throughout their remarkable career and strong reputation Cultura has gained worldwide recognition, they believe in using music as a form of activism in the community. In their 23-year trajectory, the versatile band uses music to express socio-political issues, the beauty of life, love, freedom, equality, and nature through harmonic touches of jazz, funk, and electronic, hip-hop, bossa nova, and the indisputable Afro-Caribbean rhythms. After the success of their single “Llevarte Allí” they announced the “Qualia” Tour launched in Argentina which was at the beginning of this year, they sure entertained over 20k fans per concert. They are currently recording a new album which is expected to be released in October.
Los Cafres, from Argentina, were the pioneers of reggae music in the ’80s. In the early ’90s, the band toured the basement bars and pubs of Buenos Aires with their first single “Frecuencia Cafre”. Their jump to popularity began with their album Quién da más? which held the hit single “Si el amor se cae.” With the release of this album, Los Cafres was recognized internationally as one of the current industry influencers on the Argentinian reggae scene.
The last of the three bands to be formed was Rawayana in 2007. They made a name for themselves in 2010 when participating in Venezuela’s “Festival Nuevas Bandas”, capturing the hearts of spectators with their eclectic rock/reggae beats. They subsequently released their first album “Licencia para ser libre” in 2011. In 2016, they released their most recent and third album called “Trippy Caribbean”. Their song “High” featuring Apache known throughout America and currently has 38 million reproductions on YouTube. Trippy Caribbean allowed them to be recognized internationally and toured through North America, Europe, and South America.

By the age of 30, the average woman is charged $40,000 because of the Pink Tax. European Wax Center is joining forces with the community of Miami in generating awareness to #AxElPinkTax throughout the month of April. The Pink Tax is the extra $1,351 that the average woman is charged every year for everyday products and services… just because it is for women!
With their efforts to bring these extra costs to light, Miami based artist Claudia La Bianca created a mural in Wynwood showcasing a set of pink and blue wings, with a price disparity, highlighting the price differences in men’s and women’s products to create must-share moments for the community. To put their money where their mouth is, European Wax Center will be paying the female artist $1,351 more than quoted, paying back an average year’s worth of The Pink Tax.

FSQ (Soul Clap Records) DJ sets draw upon on their extensive catalog of remix and original productions and quality dance music across a variety of styles including funk, disco, house, northern soul, and their own brand of Sly and Robbie influenced new wave, dubbed “Caribbean Disco”. This Miami Music Week Party 2019 pays tribute to the late legendary FSQ and Parliament-Funkadelic member Sa’d ‘The Hourchild’ Ali who passed away unexpectedly last year. FSQ DJs are Chuck Da Fonk and Chas Bronz. Also expect one of Sa’d’s favorite legendary DJs and friends to throw a special set TBA night of event.
Also FSQ selected some of the best talent for honor Sa’d’s legacy – for instance, Sergio Santos, a name in electronic music that has become synonymous with deep techno, dark disco, funk, and classic house with unique sounds and other world selections. Taking influence from both the United States and Portugal’s dance music scenes, Sergio has a sound unique to his life experiences and surrounding environments. Sergio and Sa’d last played together at Art Basel 2017. Sergio’s wonderful new concept is FUNKY PEOPLE, a diverse conglomerate of artists, hosting weekly and monthly residencies throughout NYC, providing the soundtrack to this FUNKY life and celebrating love and friendship.
Los Negros are record label mates of FSQ via Soul Clap / Crew Love. Their sets present the finest rare and classic selections across genres spanning house, disco, funk, latin, and soul. Miami locals, they’ve also been holding down 305 parties like Scooch at Coyo Taco, 1-800-Lucky and Vagabond Miami and their music has graced several soirees at Barter Wynnwood in the past. They made their official Soul Clap Records debut in 2017 on the Soul Clap led compilation “ThreeOhFive Life” including cuts from both Los Negros, and Shane Vincent solo. Los Negros are also known for their deeply funky “Summer Edits” series on Crew Love.
Queens New York City born Wendy Escobar, another dear friend of FSQ’s, was championed by Sa’d The Hourchild Ali for her production and DJ talent. Now Los Angeles based, Wendy first became a regular name among house heads as the voice of Traxsource Live with over 4 Million online and FM radio Listeners. Wendy now hosts her own radio Show, “Mood Swing”, signed to the acclaimed “This Is Distorted” alongside Defected Radio, Deadmau5 and Drumcode. A passionate digger and lover of the old school, Wendy plays house, techno & deep house in both digital and vinyl formats, mixed with a healthy dose of dance classics.

Moon River Cabaret returns to Wynwood with another monthly production of The Garter at Barter.
After two successfully produced sold-out burlesque spectacles at Wynwood’s latest home for live entertainment, The Garter returns to Barter with a new cast and the same powerhouse performances that have brought audiences both seasoned and newcomers alike to revere this cherished American art-form.
Barter, with its vintage decor and homey vibe welcomes lovers of great dining, connoisseurs of fine cocktails, and those that enjoy being entertained with an in-your-face live burlesque and comedy show filled with music, song, and the art of striptease.

On Saturday, March 16, 2019, Chef Mike Pirolo of Miami Beach’s rustic Italian gem, Macchialina, will be shmearing up hand rolled, baked fresh bagels alongside Miami’s favorite carb artisan, El Bagel’s Matteson Koche. Also debuting is Pirolo’s El Bagel Dip, a delightful iteration of an Italian-style roast beef sandwich – thinly sliced roast beef topped with caramelized onions and tangy homemade salsa verde served on Koche’s savory garlic bagel and accompanied by a rich, beef brodo for dipping.
Pro Tip: There will be limited number of bagels available so be sure to arrive as early as possible.

The Wynwood Yard’s grand finale season ushers in the grandest of all Pub Crawl Pick Up events we have ever hosted! This April 7th, the very last Pub Crawl Pick Up at our Wynwood location followed by The Yard’s International Beer Day Festival (International Beer Day Festival entry free for Pub Crawl Pick Up holders!!) will bring together community partners, organizations, local breweries and restaurants that have made past community clean ups fun, impactful and delicious.
Join us, longtime Pub Crawl Pick Up partner, Debris Free Oceans, plus our featured partner for April: Rescue a Reef, along with an impressive cohort of community organizations like Miami Water Keeper, AIM, and The Full Edit, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on a mission to beautify Wynwood while also making an impact on Biscayne Bay and Miami’s beaches.
Meet at 2:30 p.m. at The Wynwood Yard to sign in and enjoy an initial brew or kombucha, meet fellow cleaner uppers, and learn about DFO and featured participating non-profit. You’ll travel through the neighborhood, cleaning up as you go and making a pit stop for a bite at Charlie’s Vegan Tacos on our way back to The Wynwood Yard, where we’ll join the International Beer Day Festival (your $20 ticket includes vouchers for beer samples at the festival).

Wynwood mezcaleria Melinda’s announces today that it is partnering with other South Florida bars and Q, the Brooklyn-based maker of spectacular mixers, to host “HIGHBALL’R,” a celebration, open to the public, of the simple, yet incredibly elegant highball cocktail.

A special HIGHBALL’R menu of highball cocktails will be available for one night only, with drinks from an all-star cast of South Florida bartenders including Gaston Gonzalez (Casa Florida), Diego Nave (Tacology), Emiliano Gonzalez (Casa Florida), Ricardo Astudillo (Ilegal Mezcal), Alejandro Noriega (Santa Teresa), and Marco Nava (Cantina la Veinte).
Esquire declares “The highball is making a comeback…They are the antidote to seven-ingredient mixology hijinks, a respectable respite from your martini habit, and the drink of the post-experienced drinker.”
So what is a highball? To say it’s a couple ounces of spirit (whiskey, gin, etc) poured into glass and topped with a haphazard squirt of club soda or tonic is to undervalue what differentiates a highball cocktail from the vodka-sodas we all drank in college.
A truly great highball is built from the glass, up. It starts with a sleek, slender highball glass a chilled at freezing temperatures. The glass is removed from the freezer and filled with “ice so clear that you can read fine print through it.” About two ounces of spirit are added. And then, holding the glass at an angle, the bartender pours slowly the chilled mixer of choice. This technique maximizes the mixer’s carbonation ensuring the drink is just as fizzy on the last sip as the first.
Esquire continues, “The attention to detail is palpable. There’s a bracing fizz and a steady undercurrent of whisky from first sip to last, with no watered-down sludge at the end; ye olde whisky soda, by comparison, tastes like a bad accident.
When asked ‘What’s in a highball and what makes it different?’ Masahiro Urushido of New York’s Katana Kitten replied, ‘Care and love. It’s all about how you make it.’
