Dark Horse Flyer is a rock band based from South Florida and is comprised of 6 members. Collectively they have shared the stage with such notable artists as; Ernest Ranglin, Buster Poindexter, Etta James, Temptations, Kansas, Chuck Berry, and The Gin Blossoms. Breakaway is a 9-song album of masterfully played brawny riff rock and detached cool jazzy rock.

As a Boca Raton resident and bassist for the band, Richard Taylor has forged his own artistic conception, successfully creating basslines that are stand-alone musical statements. The combination of his rich understanding of music theory and chemistry of the chords, scales, and passing tones, makes him an invaluable member of Dark Horse Flyer.

Jazz lovers will have the unique opportunity to spend an intimate evening Ann Hampton Callaway, one of America’s best-known divas, when she performs a special one-woman show later this month in Boca Raton. The proceeds will benefit the Anita Priest Whispering Angels Foundation, a non-profit organization that raises money for LGBT students pursuing careers in design, the arts and education.
The Whispering Angels Foundation was founded in 2008 by Sandra Holiday in honor of her longtime partner Anita Priest. Priest, an interior designer who rose to the top of her profession, was devoted to education and established the School for Interior Decoration and Design.

Chamber Music Society of Palm Beach announced the 2013-2014 season will feature a six concert series held at the exquisite Mar-a-Lago Club. The Society’s concerts will feature members of the New York Philharmonic, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, a Van Cliburn Competition Gold Medal Winner, and young artists poised for important international careers.

Following the success of her PBS special, “Songs for Peace,” Liel Kolet, singer, songwriter and peace advocate, will take the stage for her Ray of Hope Concert Tour on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, Thursday, March 7, 2013 and Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Spanish River Church in Boca Raton, FL.

Liel Kolet’s performances in Boca Raton mark the first leg of her Ray of Hope Concert Tour across the United States in support of her forthcoming album, “Ray of Hope,” produced by 16-time Grammy Award Winner Humberto Gatica, which is scheduled to be released in June 2013.

Twenty-three year-old vocal powerhouse Liel Kolet began her professional career at the age of 12, after winning the prestigious European talent contest, Bravo Bravissimo. Blessed with extraordinary talent, an angelic voice and a magical persona that captivates audiences around the world, Liel has performed all over the world and has collaborated with musical greats, Andrea Bocelli, The Scorpions, Patti Labelle, Herbie Hancock and Slash, and has also had the honor of sharing a stage with President Bill Clinton.

Liel’s career skyrocketed in 2003, after a landmark performance at Israeli President Shimon Peres’ 80th birthday celebration, during which Liel spontaneously invited President Bill Clinton to join her on stage to sing one of history’s greatest peace songs, John Lennon’s “Imagine,” along with a choir of 40 Jewish children and 40 Arabic children. Born to Jewish parents with Indian, Yemenite and Egyptian roots on a Kibbutz in northern Israel, Liel’s upbringing in one of the most war-torn parts of the world shaped her musical and personal goals, instilling a burning desire to spread the message of peace through her music and voice. Liel’s personal crusade to promote peace and for the well being of children all over the world has brought the singer-songwriter international attention as her generation’s symbol of peace.

In 2007 Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert nominated Liel as Official Ambassador for Northern Israel. She has also serves as official ambassador for The Peres Center for Peace, Sheba Medical Center Children’s Hospital and international peace organizations Seeds of Peace and Children of Peace. Brotherly Love Productions is thrilled to announce a show with Allen Aucoin’s latest project, DrFameus, for an extra special intimate evening at the Funky Buddha Lounge & Brewery on Friday, June 1st. If you’re unfamiliar with Allen’s work with the Disco Biscuits you should know that this year’s AURA Music Festival alum was handpicked to replace their founding drummer and take the wheel of one of the scene’s most progressive jamtronic powerhouses. The redheaded wonder drummer’s robotic precision attack has earned him nicknames like “The Gingerbot” & “The Machine” and he’s studiously broken down the wildest Drum & Bass and Jungle beats produced in the early 00’s, reproducing them on his kit.

He will be joined by Atlanta’s electro-folk troupe, Stokeswood, who has roots in SoFlo and left an impression on Boca when they performed two shows at the Buddha in early April with J2K and Arpetrio.

DrFameus is an electronic music project created by the versatile drummer, Allen Aucoin. Allen explores many realms with DrFameus ranging from breakbeats to drum ‘n’ bass to dubstep to techno/house. It is his ability to survey the crowd and then improvise that has allowed Aucoin to play in such diverse projects over the years. Allen began his musical career not onstage, but instead in education and composition. This included instructing and writing for award winning percussion ensembles and teaching drum lessons. While attending Berklee College of Music in Boston Massachusetts Allen was given the nickname DrFameus and it has stuck ever since. Like so many of us, college was not exactly a punctual time for Allen. He became known as the guy that was famously late all the time; so much that a friend gave him the honorary doctorate, DrFameus. After moving back to the southeast from Boston, Allen continued to work as a teacher and percussion instructor while touring with the band “Skydog Gyspy.” In 2005 Aucoin acquired his current role as the drummer for Philadelphia electronic act, the Disco Biscuits. Since winning the “drum off” held by the Biscuits in Atlantic City, Allen has played 450-500 shows with the quartet including shows at the Gorge Amphitheatre and Red Rocks Amphitheatre. www.DrFameus.com

Stokeswood is an incredibly unique, Atlanta based, Low-Endie Rock band with infectious energy, unpredictable live performances, and a fierce electronic edge. They coined the phrase “Low-Endie” rock to describe their layered mixture of pumping synths, powerful vocals, and irresistible dance vibe. Fre•quen•cy; noun (pl.-cies) is the rate at which vibration occurs in radio, sound, or light waves. All of which can be simultaneously witnessed during a South Florida FREQ show. Roditi came to Boston in 1970 from his native Brazil via Mexico. He studied at the Berklee College of Music and became musically influenced by Clifford Brown and Lee Morgan. Roditi later joined the faculty of the School of Contemporary Music, meanwhile doing club and concert performances. In 1976 he moved to New York, and quickly broke into the local circuit, performing and recording with Joe Henderson, Charlie Rouse, Herbie Mann, Tito Puente, McCoy Tyner, Horace Silver and Paquito D’Rivera. Roditi established himself as a formidable jazz figure. Since 1989, he has traveled frequently as a member of Dizzy Gillespie’s United Nations Orchestra. For a while, he also toured with The Jazz Masters, a Gillespie tribute group led by Slide Hampton. Roditi has recorded 16 critically acclaimed albums as a leader since 1984, and Brazilliance X 4 was nominated for a Grammy Award as best Latin jazz album in 2010. In 1995, his Symphonic Bossa Nova recording also garnered a Grammy nomination.
