CHECK OUT ALL DATES AND TIMES BELOW:

December 1 – December 30, 2019

Sober Collective Art Gallery // 80 NE 29th Street, Wynwood

During Miami Art Week from Dec 1-8, the exhibit will be open to guests from 10 a.m.-12 a.m.

From December 9-30, it will be open from 12 p.m.-10 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays and from 10 a.m. – 11 p.m. Wednesday-Sundays.

Our Grand Opening exhibition at Sober Collective Art Gallery will be on December 8, from 7 p.m. – 12 a.m.

Known as “The Dutch Master of Light,” Tim Boin curated this selection of 8 of the best Dutch street artists in cross-combination with his own solo exhibition ‘Geometry is Life’ at the W South Beach during Miami Art Week. His group of artists all excel in bold, abstract and unconventional large-scale work found internationally and celebrated globally.

About the Artists:
Tim Boin Art: Conscious elements are at the root of Tim’s message. Celebrated for his larger-than-life sculptures, he depicts the ecosystem’s sensitive state. Using 3D Mapping, Tim literally and figuratively sheds light on his geometric sculptures of endangered species in his most recent work.
digitaldoes: He focuses on collecting pieces from past walls and reshaping them into a new form to use as core elements in his new pieces. He perpetuates the past and makes new work traceable to a specific google coordinate of a bygone wall. From China to Mexico and Australia to New York, his work has been found all across the globe.
Saïd Kinos: His work expresses a fascination for the way people communicate with each other. It’s recognizable by his high-contrast use of distorted typography. His visual overkill is a metaphor for the amount of information we have to process on a daily basis.
TELMO MIEL: This creative duo evolved from creating individual pieces on one mural into developing one image, one composition together. They focus on playfulness in abstraction of reality; attempting to make the viewer see opposite perspectives and subjects with a different eye.
Joram Roukes: Using juxtapositions of imagery, he creates abstract narratives and figures that evoke introspection and contemplation. His work gained attention from several international galleries, and he actively paints large-scale murals across the globe, including Copenhagen, Paris, Berlin, San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles and London, to name a few.
Bier en Brood: Inspired by machines, nature and architecture, they possess a unique style, often interpreted as sinister and apocalyptic. Their preferred mediums include highly detailed pen drawings, spray-cans and paint for their large-scale work.
Mossy Giant: He has a slightly neurotic fascination with detailed line-work and stories within stories. Not made for the easily distracted, recurring themes in this work include nature, man, beast & machine.
Zevous: His company, Dutch Deco Finish, specializes in wall and furniture finishes for amusement parks and large festivals, which has led to over a decade of developing relationships with artists worldwide; and after these artists began approaching him to commission exclusive works of art, it has inspired him to create his own extensive portfolio.

Dutch DJ Damoulis is setting sound waves to this visual playground, mastering in Miami-favorite sounds like Afrobeats, AfroHouse, Latin and Dutch urban music and dancehall.

MJ Basel is Miami Jewish Health’s fifth annual art exhibition, in which residents and staff showcase their works of art alongside pieces done by some of South Florida’s best local artists. Members of the South Florida community are invited to enjoy food, drinks and live music while experiencing the talents of our residents and other members of the community.

Art is not only a form of self-expression and storytelling, but it also acts as a form of therapy. Miami Jewish Health residents take part in art classes each day, and some who suffer from Alzheimer’s and dementia use art as a form of relaxation therapy. In an effort to support these classes, 20% of all art sales at MJ Basel go directly to Miami Jewish Health’s art programs.

Healthy Body Healthy Mind.Com came into existence for the sole purpose of helping people find a healthy way to live their lives. Living a healthier life doesn’t just mean having a healthy or gym-sculpted body or lifting 200 pounds in the box or running 5 miles without going out of breath.

“It is not just your physical fitness but your mental well being as well that comprises your overall health.”-
It might seem like our nutrition or our exercise regime may not be the reason for our inner happiness but this is where we fail to understand the importance of good health.
Healthy Body Healthy Mind.Com strictly believes in and wants its readers to know that only a healthy body can house a healthy heart and mind. You know how our previous generations always used to say, “Health is wealth;” their appreciation for good health wasn’t in vain.
At Healthy Body Healthy Mind.Com we believe and encourage our readers to follow strict laws of health from the start. Parents are motivated to help their children cultivate these habits from a very young age.
Rising early is one of such habits. There is a reason why nights are dark and days are bright. Nights are meant for us to sleep and rest and days are for work. Our body too finds it natural to follow this one rule but the problem begins when we try to alter this behavior. You will witness all kinds of problems right from back pain to acidity to aching eyes and stiffness and lethargy when you try to alter your natural body clock. And with time these conditions worsen.
How can we forget regular exercise? We at Healthy Body Healthy Mind.Com always want our readers to be religiously dedicated to any kind of physical activity they enjoy the most. Participate in something that doesn’t just help you break a sweat but your mundane routine as well.
Try as much as you can to avoid alcoholic beverages and anything that intoxicates or makes you subdued in any way. Also practice staying away from junk and processed foods.
At Healthy Body Healthy Mind.Com we will always be by your side when you want to take your first steps to a better and healthier you.

Toro Toro, the Pan-Latin steakhouse located inside the InterContinental in Downtown Miami, will be starting the holiday season early this year with a ticketed Friendsgiving dinner hosted and prepared by the acclaimed Chef/Owner Richard Sandoval, as well as a specialty Friendsgiving menu that will be offered for the whole month of November.

Taking place on Thursday, November 14 at 7PM, the one-night-only, 30-person dinner will transform Toro Toro’s striking Matador Room into an intimate dining experience that will serve as an exclusive celebration of the season. Priced at $75 per person (excluding tax and gratuity), tickets will include a welcome cocktail in the restaurant’s lounge upon arrival, followed by a 3-course family-style meal with respective wine pairings. In the spirit of Friendsgiving and connecting with each other, Chef Sandoval, who will be preparing the meal for the evening, will interact with and explain the dishes to guests as the table is served.

The menu for the event will begin with appetizers including Apple & Carrot Curry Soup; Baby Beet Salad with baby kale, green beans and Stracciatella; Pork Belly with corn bread and carrots; and Kabocha Squash with mushrooms, truffle aioli and parmigiano. For the main course, Chef Sandoval will be preparing a traditional Roasted Turkey with a Pan-Latin twist as it will be served with sweet potato bravas, jalapeño honey butter and kimchi Brussels sprouts. Additional entrées will include Achiote Chicken with arroz con gandules, piquillo peppers, tostones and cilantro sauce; and Pork Pernil with mashed yuca, chicharron and red onion mojo. A sweet ending to the night will feature desserts such as Chocolate Caramel Pecan Pie and Maduros Cream Pie.

Priced at $75 per person and available for parties of 14 or more, it is a great alternative for groups who prefer to sit back, socialize and spend quality time with friends over an exquisite meal, without the time and effort of preparation, cooking and cleaning. For this experience, room rental fees are waived and groups have the options of hosting the dinner in Table 40, Toro Toro’s unique in-kitchen dining room; Matador Room, the restaurant’s large private dining room; or in any section of the restaurant desired.

Flight Into Egypt: Rare, Reformation-Era Stained Glass Exhibition

Two rare, pre-17th century, stained-glass panels depicting the Holy Family’s Flight Into Egypt are on permanent display at the Deering Estate beginning October 19th. The historic significance of these pieces cannot be overstated, as very few stained glass representations of religious art from this period have survived centuries marked by the ravages of war, political upheavals and natural deterioration. Of the stained-glass panels from that era that have survived, there are only 14 other pieces on public display in Florida. Admission to the 450-acre estate is $15 for adults; $7 for children (ages 4-14); Military and seniors receive a $2 discount on Tuesdays, and Deering Estate Foundation members admitted free.
