Super Fan Fest Takes Over Wynwood with Massive Tailgate Party for the Super Bowl 1/30/20, 1/31/20, 2/1/20, 2/2/20

Super Fan Fest Takes Over Wynwood with Massive Tailgate Party for the Super Bowl
Thursday, 01/30/2020 – 04:00 pm – 09:00 pm
The Wynwood Marketplace
2250 Northwest 2nd Avenue,
Miami, Florida 33127

Cost: Free

Wynwood’s about to witness a seismic event worthy of the Lombardi trophy… and Tom Brady’s six rings (#toosoon?). Right in time for the Big Game, SWARM is thrilled to announce the first-ever Super Fan Fest presented by AT&T, a four-day championship party featuring live concerts, DJs, football-themed activations, sports bars and, as befitting a proper Miami throwdown, a Caja China tailgate experience. The family-friendly event is free and will take place January 30 – February 2 at The Wynwood Marketplace.

“Bringing Super Fan Fest to Wynwood was a no-brainer. The neighborhood is at the center of culture and nightlife here in Miami and draws people from all around the city,” said Tony Albelo, CEO of SWARM “Our goal for Super Fan Fest is to bring the energy of the Big Game straight to the people of Miami — without the cost.”

Super Fan Fest is bringing the game to locals and visitors alike, with football field-sized amounts of interactive fun. Along with DJs spinning throughout the four days, guests can jam out to the free concerts available Thursday through Friday beginning at 8 p.m. on the AT&T Elevate Main Stage. Confirmed headliners include:

Thursday, January 30: EDM

Cheat Codes (“No Promises” feat. Demi Lovato)

Friday, January 31: Latin

J. Alvarez (“La Pregunta”)

Darell (“Otro Trago”)

Saturday, February 1: Hip Hop

Rae Sremmurd (“Black Beetles”)

The event will also feature scheduled autograph signings with Ricky Williams and Dennis Rodman.

Fans and pro bowlers in the making can test their skills on the Field of Dreams, where scoring a touchdown is the goal of the day. Feel the need for speed? The Thread the Needle and Fast on Your Feet challenge will prove just how quick those Nikes really move. For those curious about how they stack up against football’s biggest stars, Measure Up recreates a professional football player’s locker room, complete with authentic football gear such as shoes, helmets and shoulder pads that can be tried on.

Everyone knows that beer and football make the best teammates. That’s why Super Fan Fest has several options for kicking back with an icy cold brew. At Punts and Pints, a beer garden awaits with a full selection of suds from the Anheuser Busch portfolio. The Bud Light Sports Deck offers a more classic sports bar vibe, with an abundance of TVs and signature drinks — including a special Bud Light Super Bowl commemorative can. Super Fan Fest attendees can also opt to gather at the Front of House Bar and kick back with a drink and some good company.

Need some grub to go with that beer? Patagonia Beer and Food Hall will be dishing up gourmet treats from all around Miami, while The Caja China Endzone Presented by Jim Beam and Cruzan Rum lets vehicles gather and barbeque for a true tailgate vibe. The experience will also feature daily workshops by award-winning grill masters sharing their pro tips on grilling at home or at The Big Game.

Finally, if there aren’t pics, did it really happen? Nah — that’s why Super Fan Fest will include two photo-op stations: a 3D “Welcome to Miami” postcard and an iconic Miami Beach lifeguard station.

While Super Fan Fest is free to the public, a limited amount of VIP tickets will be sold online and at the event. The tickets, which cost $89 and $119, include front of stage access, luxury, air-conditioned restrooms, entry to the Stagefront VIP lounge, a commemorative VIP credential, a private entrance and bar. The $89 ticket includes one premium beverage at the private bar while the $119 price allows guests to enjoy unlimited sponsored cocktails, spirits, beer and wine from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m.

SWARM, a full-service event agency in Wynwood ranked one of the fastest growing business in America by Inc. Magazine, has developed a playbook for throwing some the most thrilling events in Miami. Super Fan Fest promises to be one of the most memorable championship game parties to hit the 305.

Forensic Architecture: True to Scale Exhibition 2/20/20

Forensic Architecture: True to Scale Exhibition
Thursday, 02/20/2020 – 09/27/2020 01:00 pm –
Museum of Art and Design at Miami Dade College
600 Biscayne Boulevard,
Miami, Florida 33132
Website
Cost: $12 adults; $8 seniors and military; $5 students (13–17) and college students (with valid ID); free for MOAD members, MDC students, faculty, and staff, and children 12 and under.

MOAD presents the first major U.S. survey of Forensic Architecture’s extraordinary work uncovering evidence of state and corporate violence.

Comprised of architects, software developers, filmmakers, journalists, lawyers, artists, and scientists, Forensic Architecture is a research agency that uses architectural software and an architectural sensibility to investigate human rights violations.

Forensic Architecture: True to Scale displays the evidence and explains the methodologies behind over a dozen Forensic Architecture investigations. While providing an overview of how advanced techniques such as photogrammetry, audio analysis, augmented reality, 3D modeling, machine learning, and crowd sourcing support their findings, the exhibition considers the complex relationship between a material fact and its representation in the public realm. Amidst what Founding Director Eyal Weizman refers to as the “dark epistemology” of a post-truth media environment, this collection of meticulously researched, carefully analyzed, and conscientiously presented evidence demonstrates that it is both possible and imperative to verify what is really happening in the world around us.

True to Scale includes the first Forensic Architecture investigation in which virtual reality is used to compel accurate witness testimony and recreate a crime scene. Co-produced by MOAD, it corresponds with the core theoretical and practical questions that will be further explored through the museum’s public programming.

In addition to a panel of experts on the architecture of border walls and refugee camps, MOAD will host a series of events that teach Forensic Architecture’s methodologies while laying the groundwork for an investigation of the alleged crimes occurring within a nearby child migrant detention center. Working with a coalition of journalists, activists, architects, and MDC students, the series will bring critical attention to the humanitarian crisis at our borders and the architectural forms that evince devastating social policies.

Forensic Architecture: True to Scale is curated by Sophie Landres. It is made possible by the support of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation as part of its Immersive Technologies in the Arts initiative; the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners; and the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture.

Central Fare offers exactly what you’re in the mood for— no matter what that is: comfort food at World Famous House of Mac; Cuban cafecitos and pastelitos at CAO Bakery and Cafe; a taste of Argentina at PF by Delicatessen Patagonia; Italian baked goodness at Rosetta Bakery; crepes and galettes at Bucks Crepes; and American food with a French twist at anchor restaurant, La Estación American Brasserie by Juvia Group. Not to mention the new concepts opening soon: Art de Vivre, Kuenko, 800° Woodfire Kitchen, and more.

The Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami (MOCA) is pleased to present a screening of Cecilia Vicuña’s 1983 film, PARACAS, on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020. The screening will be followed by a presentation by Dr. Constantino Manuel Torres on anthropology, shamanism, and the pre-Colombian Paracas culture of the Atacama Desert.

In the film PARACAS, Vicuña animates a 2000-year-old pre-Columbian textile created in the Paracas/Nazca region of Perú. Figures from the ancient textile come to life to perform an imagined ancient ritual in a miniature world created by the artist, set in the poetic universe of a desert transformed into a garden by its ancient inhabitants. Original music was composed and performed specifically for this work by José Pérez de Arce and Claudio Mercado, with chants by Vicuña. The original Paracas textile is in the collection of the Brooklyn Museum.

Following the film, Dr. Constantino Manuel Torres will speak on the topic of on anthropology, shamanism, and the pre-Colombian Paracas culture of the Atacama Desert. Dr. Constantino Manuel Torres, Professor Emeritus, Art and Art History Department at Florida International University, Miami, has conducted research on the connection between iconography and visionary plant use in ancient cultures of the South Central Andes since 1982. He co-authored “Anadenanthera: Visionary Plant of Ancient South America” (2006), a 4,000-year history of the use of this sacred plant, which led to the study of ayahuasca analogues in South American antiquity. He has been the recipient of four Fulbright Fellowships.

KUSH is prepared to do this every year until the Dolphins make the Super Bowl. This Dolphins “Despojo” or exorcism will include laces out football cookies, a specially brewed beer by The Tank Brewing called “Laces Out,” a dolphin “sacrifice”, and the recreation of Ray Finkle’s bedroom—DIE, DAN, DIE!
