The event will revolve around El Sexto’s live painting performance, which will transcend the radical Cuban politics with infectious energy, humor and freedom. His art breaks down barriers with its humane expressiveness and universal appeal, but goes far beyond the dichotomy of political systems. With the state of our country’s human rights cloudiness, El Sexto represents freedom of expression through his art, a nonviolent form of activism. Art is a universal language that unites humans from all different backgrounds with one common ground, creativity. Attendees will be able to meet the artist as he will be present throughout the night. El Sexto’s art on view will be for sale. About the Artist: El Sexto, also known as Danilo Maldonado Machado, is considered Cuba’s number one dissident artist. Is every class the same? No, classes and cocktails vary depending on the season and the mixologist. Select herbs, mixes, tinctures, and liquors may not be available and are subject to change at the discretion of the venue and the mixologist.

What should I wear? Come ready to have a good time! No shorts, sandals, or beach attire is permitted in the lounge.

Can I bring my own alcohol? Nope, we don’t allow outside alcohol (it’s also illegal with our liquor license). If there is something specific you like please give us a call! You must be 21+ to consume alcohol. A valid ID or passport is required to attend the class.

Can I bring food? We don’t allow outside food. However, for parties of 10 and above we can provide light bites and food but you’ll need to book this a minimum of 4 week days in advance. Call us if you have questions.

Do you have private classes? Do you do classes off-site? Yes, we do! We offer private classes for a variety of events (birthdays, corporate groups, etc.) and we are more than happy to accommodate any size, location and preference! Do you offer gift certificates? Yes, we do! Call us at 305 534 2423 to purchase yours today.

Can I cancel? Cancellations must be no later than 72 hours prior to your class time in order to receive a refund or transfer to another day. Bookings created within 72 hours of a class time are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Are we in the cold? No! Drinkhouse Fire & Ice has an ice bar…meaning one room is made of 100,000 pounds of ice (the walls, bar, chairs, glasses are all ice). However, cocktail classes takes place in the lounge/bar area that is normal temperature. You are more than welcome to purchase our “Cocktail Class + Ice” ticket if you’d like to do the class and than go into the Ice bar after!

Do we need to bring our own coats if we want to visit the Ice bar? We have fur coats, hats, Ugg boots, socks, and gloves so you can come dressed however you’d like and we will take care of you!

What do I need to bring? Please bring your ticket printed or on your phone so we can process it! Please note, you will be charged tax and service upon arrival. Other than your ticket, come ready to have a good time! (P.S. you must have a valid ID or passport)

Tax and Service? Upon arrival ticket holders will be charged for tax and service charge. This is based on the price of your ticket. If you are a tax-exempt organization, you must notify the Venue upon purchasing so that Venue may make proper arrangements. If you fail to timely notify Venue of the tax-exempt status, then you must pay all applicable taxes and seek reimbursement from government entities as appropriate.

Can we take our cocktails to go? Unfortunately, the city of Miami Beach does not allow it, so enjoy your cocktails!

Bubbles, Michael Jackson’s Chimp, Really Does Paint!

Miami, June 8, 2017: After great success at Art Basel 2012, the paintings by Michael Jackson’s chimpanzee, Bubbles, and many others will be on display for 10 days at Frames USA & Art Gallery in Miami. The opening reception will be on July 21, 2017 from 6pm-10pm where the public can view and purchase a very unique piece of original ape art.

“Purchasing a piece of original art by apes is a collectible. It creates conversation, it is a form of expression, and it is rare”, Adam Brand says, owner of Frames USA. “Not to mention that the proceeds from the sales of the art will go to an amazing cause”

Over the years, zoos and sanctuaries have dabbled into selling artwork at their gift shops by resident animals to raise money. However, the purpose of this art show, Apes that Paint, extends beyond that. It seeks to establish the fact that apes are artists without judgment and second that these ape artists are contributing to the fundraising efforts for The Center for Great Apes, located in Wauchula, Florida.

Aside from artworks from our star artist Bubbles, the exhibition will host other wonderful original pieces from celebrity apes. Among them, the art of chimpanzees from Planet of the Apes, and orangutans from the movie Going Apes, and NBC’s soap opera Passions. The crowd will enjoy complimentary food and wine sponsored by Carolina Ale House and a limited-edition gift with their RSVP to the event.
