Big Night In Little Haiti at Little Haiti Cultural Center on Friday, March 20, 2105.  This month was a double bill with  Rutshelle Guillaume and Mario Chandel.   Delicious kreyol cuisine from Leela’s Restaurant, specialty drinks and much more.

The Average Joe Art Sales had visiting artists along with their resident artists selling limited edition prints, original art and wonderful merchandise ranging from $5.00 to $500.00, so you can find something no matter your budget.  While you are there, you can visit with the resident artists and see what they are currently working on in their studio. To make it even better they donated 10% of all sales to a non-profit organization , this month it was Life Is Art, Inc.

Big Night in Little Haiti on Friday, December 19, 2104.

Big Night In Little Haiti at Little Haiti Cultural Center on Friday, December 19, 2014. This month thay had Gabel, one of the premier Haitian bands. They began with a bang in 2006 when prestigious Kompa Magazine named the young Haitian group “New Band of the Year”.  Their fourth studio album Anyen Pa Etenèl was released earlier this year and they believe it to be their best yet.  The group has nine members; Katalog on vocals, Flav on vocals, Bob Doll as Maestro and guitar, Ray as the rhythm guitarist, T-Pachou on keyboards, DJ Dodo on bass, Cha Cha on percussionist and gong, Jay Lay Back on congas and tambourine, and Becken on drums.

Wow what a wonderful evening, the music was amazing and a awesome crowd everyone dancing and have a wonderful time.  Love this event…Big Night In Little Haiti is every third Friday, if you have not been you really should go.

May is Haitian Heritage Month, featuring the rasin (roots) group Boukman Eksperyans in concert. The exhibition in the gallery was Haiti by Design, presented with the Haitian Cultural Alliance. Haitian cuisine by Leela’s Lakay and Prestige Beer and Clairin Rum from Haiti at the bar.

Tale of 2 Nations at Big Night Little Haiti at Little Haiti Cultural Center on Friday, August 16, 2013.  This was the first time  that a traditional maracatu group from Recife, Brazil tours the the USA. Estrelha Brilante is visiting the US for a groundbreaking tour, joined by New York City based Brazilian group Nation Beat and Rasin Lakay brings the percussion and horns.

Peter London Global Dance Theater Premiere Showcase at The Little Haiti Cultural Center on Sunday, October 30, 2011.  What a wonderful performance and I am so looking forward to attending more performance by this wonderful dance group.  Beautiful!!! They also offer a variety of dance classes.

The Peter London Global Dance Theater exists to promote the creative expressions of its founder and artistic director, Peter London, through his choreographic creations, training of aspiring and professional dancers. PLGDT will aim to undertake numerous performances and educational workshops for local, national and global audiences with an emphasis on the inclusion of underserved artists and audiences as well as the collaboration for new choreographic works with local and global artists in the visual arts and other creative media.

Big Night in Little Haiti at the Little Haiti Cultural Center on Friday, October 21, 2011..   The eventing started off with Lanzallamas Monofonica with aAfro-Latin America-World Beat Mezcla sound.  Then on the stage was BELO and his musical style known as “Raggana”..  Big Night in Little Haiti happens every third Friday, the music and energy was so much fun.   This wonderful night is presented by The Rhythm Foundation and Little Haiti Cultural Center.

First Annual Earth ‘N Us Jam at the Earth N’ Us Farm on Saturday, May 15, 2010.   Earth N’ Us Farm is Miami’s most interesting urban organic farm,  this is a place you have to see to believe.  It is incredible, the gardens, the animals and  the tree house (and yes people live in the tree houses).  If you get a chance to go by you really need to, I would love to live there.
