Sunday, February 10 from 4:30 to 6, FREE: The Ocean Drive Association presents Valentine’s in the Park, with the Miami Big Sound Orchestra featuring guest vocalists Wendy Pedersen and LeNard Rutledge. The Miami Big Sound Orchestra is downtown Miami’s resident Latin Jazz Big Band since 2006, a project formed as a collaboration of musicians from Miami’s jazz and Latin music communities. The band combines 21st-century Big Band jazz with Afro-Cuban and Brazilian music, funk, and soul. Wendy Pedersen’s high-energy vocal delivery, with deep, convincing emotion has been impacting audiences for many years. LeNard Rutledge’s singing is described as captivating, soul stirring, earthy and funky. Miami New Times named him BEST JAZZ ARTIST. The show will be in Lummus Park at 12th Street in Miami Beach.
