The Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami (MOCA) is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a unique performance by GRAMMY Award-winning Artist Nestor Torres as part of its monthly “Jazz at MOCA” series. National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated Sept. 15 – Oct. 15 and recognizes Hispanic and Latin American heritage and culture. As a flautist, Torres has found inspiration in classical, Cuban, rock, and jazz sounds resulting in a rhythmic and mellifluous flute sound that has become a music genre all by itself.

In collaboration with the City of North Miami’s Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration, the public is invited to enjoy this special Jazz at MOCA event and the rhythms of Nestor Torres, rain or shine.

Guests may also enjoy MOCA’s exhibition “Tracing the Red Thread” by Miami-based artist Mira Lehr by donation. “Tracing the Red Thread” is a multimedia, museum-wide installation reflecting Lehr’s eco-feminist philosophy.
