Ask a Yoruba; aché is the primordial, mystical energy that permeates everything in the universe – divine grace, vitality, wisdom and the inherited experience of the life force. A group of Miami music veterans have tapped into the source for an exciting new project that fuses rhythms of the orishas with house music – A.C.H.É, The AfroCuban House Experiment featuring OSCAR G (Murk Records, Funky Green Dogs) OBA Frank Lords and Katiahshé.

Sinkane is a young Sudanese-Brooklynite serves as musical director for the Atomic Bomb! super group, which includes David Byrne, Damon Albarn, members of Hot Chip, LCD Sound System, Amadou & Mariam and so many others. Here he brings his funk-soul-afropop group for a live set, in support of their new release Life and Livin’ It.

Vieux Farka Toure is often referred to as “The Hendrix of the Sahara.” He is the son of legendary Malian guitar player Ali Farka Touré, and he continues to explore the fertile musical links between Malian music and American blues. His collaborations include legends of African music and far beyond, including Dave Matthews, Idan Rachel, Julia Easterlin.

TransAtlantic Festival is presented by Rhythm Foundation with support from John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Additional support is received from Jack Daniels, Atlantic Broadband, City of Miami Beach Cultural Arts Council, and Miami Dade Department of Cultural Affairs. Day 2 of the Festival is presented in partnership with Community Arts and Culture’s Afro Roots World Music Festival.
