Join ICA Miami for “Miami Art Week Opening Night!” celebrating the opening of the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami’s newest exhibition, “One Day on Success Street” by renowned German Pop artist Thomas Bayrle!

Guests are invited to stay for a special After-Party presented in collaboration with Look Alive Fest featuring a live performance by Psychic TV. Miami Art Week Opening Night will begin on Tuesday, November 29, from 7 to 9 p.m., followed by the after-party at 9 p.m.

Both events are open to ICA Miami members, select art fair VIP card-holders, and invited guests. Priority is offered to members and art fair VIP cardholders, and entry is granted on a first come, first served basis. Membership is available at icamiami.org/support.

“One Day on Success Street” is a major survey and first American museum presentation dedicated to Thomas Bayrle. Wire Madonna, a centerpiece of the survey created for ICA Miami’s Atrium Gallery, sees the artist interpreting the icon of Madonna and Child in steel. The site- specific installation is the artist’s largest sculpture to date. The exhibition marks ICA Miami’s final presentation located in the landmark Moore Building, as it prepares for the opening of its new permanent home in the Miami Design District in late 2017.

ICA Miami Art Week Opening Night! After-Party marks the debut Miami performance by alternative rock band and multimedia project Psychic TV, fronted by renowned performance artist, writer, and “Pandrogenist,” Genesis Breyer P-Orridge. Formed in 1981 after the disbandment of Industrial music pioneers Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV is known for intense visceral live performances, influential aesthetic and philosophical contributions to popular and underground music, and a creative lineage that includes cultural luminaries William S. Burroughs, painter and poet Brion Gysin, Dr. Timothy Leary, queer activist and filmmaker Derek Jarman, and music theorist John Cage. The current iteration of Psychic TV includes Edley ODowd on drums, Alice Genese on bass, John Weingarten on keys, and Jeff Berner on guitars. Sean Ragon from Brooklyn-based neo-folk outfit Cult of Youth will join Psychic TV for their performance at ICA Miami.

ICA Miami Art Week Opening Night! After-Party is presented in collaboration with Look Alive Fest, an independently-run Miami-based organization committed to elevating the work of experimental musicians. For more information on Look Alive Fest, which takes place on Friday, December 2, at Churchill’s Pub and features performances by Psychic TV and Destruction Unit among others, please visit lookalivefest.com.
