Once a month, FilmGate Miami invites you to The Sweatshop; a unique meet-up between writers and actors. We invite writers to submit their screenplays ( only 1-5 pages of YOUR script PLEASE! ) and then actors to do a cold read of the submitted material; segments of shorts and features welcome! Come meet and greet with other actors and writers in the community and find collaborators for your next project as you watch your written work come to life!
Writers, please send us your script in advance so we can print copies!
This event meets the third Saturday of each month, 9:00am at Villain Theater (8325 NE 2nd Ave, Miami FL)All cold reads will be recorded on camera, please bring your own SD card! Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door, proceeds benefit FilmGate Interactive. Open submissions and open casting policy enforced. Breakfast, coffee, water and snacks always included!
