Orchestra Miami presents performances of a very special composition. Brundibár, an opera for children, premiered during World War II and became both a symbol of hope and resistance as well as a Nazi propaganda tool. It was performed 55 times in the Theresienstadt concentration camp, and used by the Nazis to show how well the prisoners were being treated. A classic story of good versus evil, this beautiful piece is a symbol of hope and the triumph of the human spirit. Performed by students from the Miami Art Studio at Zelda Glazer K-8, and Orchestra Miami, conducted by Elaine Rinaldi.
Three Performances: Sunday, May 15th, 4:00 PM at Pinecrest Gardens (11000 SW 57 Avenue, Pinecrest, 33156); Sunday, May 22nd, 4:00 PM at Temple Beth Torah Benny Rok Campus (20350 NE 26 Avenue, North Miami Beach, 33180) and Sunday June 5th, 4:00 PM at Temple Israel (137 NE 19 Street, Miami, 33132).
