Hashtag the secret phase and one lucky couple at the Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber Of Commerce (MDGLCC) 14th Annual Gala and Awards Celebration, “The Sapphire Gala,” will leave the networking event with an all-expenses paid trip for two to the beautiful, LGBTQ-friendly Caribbean island of Curacao. That’s just one of the surprises in store for guests, said Steve Adkins, MDGLCC president and CEO. Wells Fargo will present the sparkling networker and gala honoring community leaders on Saturday, June 13, at the newly opened 1 Hotel & Homes South Beach at 2341 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach.

“The Sapphire Gala” kicks off with a silent auction of more than 150 items, organized by category, such as Arts & Culture, Business Services, Décor, Fashion and Beauty, Food and Dining, Health and Wellness, Leisure, Retail, Sports, and Travel & Lodging. Featured items up for bid include IKEA furniture, dinner at Perricone’s Marketplace and Café, a hypnosis session from Silergy Wellness Center and staycation packages at The Betsy South Beach and Cadet Hotel/Pied-à-Terre.

During dinner, “The Sapphire Gala” will pay tribute to four award honorees who were selected for their long-term commitment to fostering diversity, as well as for their efforts in contributing to the overall quality of life in South Florida. Being honored at “The Sapphire Gala” will be:

“Business of the Year”
DECOBIKE, LLC

AT&T “Business Person of the Year”
Cindy Brown

Regions Bank “Non-Profit Organization of the Year”
Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County

Morgan Stanley “Bob Balsam Civic Achievement Award”
Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine

Following the dinner and awards presentation, guests will be treated to entertainment and dancing at the Jackson Miracle After Party. Performing at the Jackson Miracle After Party will be Miss Miami Beach Gay Pride 2013 and “Favorite Drag Queen” for the 2014 Pink Flamingo Awards — Tiffany Fantasia. Keeping the beat for the After Party will be DJ/Producer Maximus 3000, winner of the “Favorite DJ” award at the 2013 Pink Flamingo Awards.
