Miguel Rodez’s gives us a glimpse into his fantasy world in his new exhibit “Spring Forward” through a collection of paintings and monotypes that will be on view just in time for the Spring Equinox. Emphasizing the sensuality of flowers is nothing new. Georgia O’Keefe and others have done it in the past. However, Rodez makes an impressive entrance into this genre with flowers that are no ordinary blooms. Using what some have described as magical realism, he creates sexy flowers, endowed with much more than just beauty. These lusty creations manage to be bold without being vulgar.
