The March edition of OLCDC’s new art series META is in honor of Women’s History Month and doubles as the opening of “Forces of Nature: Bounce and Flow” featuring artists Elaine Defibaugh, Sheila Elias, Judy Sayfie, and Hattie Mae Williams. The multimedia art exhibition will be a visual feast full of color, fantasy, creative power and energy. The March 29 opening will also include a panel discussion on the transformational value of art, co-moderated by META curator Ludlow Bailey of CADA Conversations and Mikhaile Solomon, Director of Public Art for OLCDC and Founder/Director of PRIZM Art Fair.

Panelists include:
Dr. Carol Damian, Professor of Art History at FIU
Evelyn Pierre, Director of the Haitian Cultural Museum
Marie Vickles, Education Manager for Outreach Programs at the Perez Art Museum Miami / Curator-in-Residence at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex

FREE and open to the public!

“Forces of Nature: Bounce and Flow” will be on display at The ARC from March 29 – April 15, 2015. Exhibition hours: Monday – Friday 10 AM – 5:30 PM. Weekends by appointment only.

META is a monthly art series is meant to engage the Opa-locka and greater South Florida communities with unique and transformative art, leading up to OLCDC’s annual Art of Transformation in November and December.
