Special Olympics Florida Hosts Softball Skills Assessment Clinic

Special Olympics Florida – Miami-Dade County, a 2014 Marlins Foundation Charity Partner, will host a softball skills assessment clinic at Marlins Park. Special Olympics athletes will be able to play on the field at Marlins Park.

The Special Olympics Florida – Miami Dade County is one of four nonprofit organizations that the Marlins selected as their Charity Partners for 2014. Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for persons eight years of age and older with Intellectual Disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, talents and friendship with their families, other athletes and the community. Through the Marlins Charity Partners, the Marlins are able to make a deep and focused-impact in the South Florida youth through education, the arts and baseball. The Marlins community partnerships and outreach efforts demonstrate their leadership in Corporate Social Responsibility and civic engagement.
