encaustiCon® 2014 Miami Melt – Color, Culture, Caliente October 9-14 Miami, FL

International Encaustic Artists presents encaustCon® 2014 – Miami Melt; taking place at the Miami Airport Hilton, Florida from October 7-14, 2014. IEA invites all artists who are passionate about bringing contemporary vision to an ancient medium to explore this year’s workshop and lecture offerings.

IEA is pleased to welcome Francisco Benitez as the Keynote Speaker on October 10th 2014 at 12 noon. Mr. Benitez will offer a 3-day pre-conference workshop on figurative painting. He will also be available for consultations throughout the conference. Benitez’ work is in numerous collections around the world and he lectures on paintings from the Baroque Period.

The Audrey Love Gallery at the Bakehouse Art Complex will be this year’s setting for IEA’s Juried Themed Art Show “The Devil in the Straight Line” inspired by Austrian artist Freidensreich Hundertwasser. Florida based German artist and FAU educator Henning Haupt will be this year’s judge. The show is open to all artists working in the medium of encaustic.

The call to artists is located on our website www.international-encaustic-artists.org
Attendees are invited to enroll in hands-on workshops that incorporate fiber arts, photography and collage to incorporate into their encaustic works. From beginning, emerging and professional artists, all are welcome. Day passes are also available to high school and college art students.

Vendors who specialize in encaustic art supplies will on-site during encaustiCon®. Encaustic medium, specialty papers and other supplies will be available for purchase.
The International Encaustic Artists (IEA) is a non-profit, professional artists’ organization that seeks to raise the level of excellence in fine art encaustic work by providing a global information exchange and by raising interest about encaustic in the art world and with the general public.
