Burger Brawl Review

Burger Brawl’s Best Burgers

Burger-Brawl-2014-4

Burgers have experienced a glorified Renaissance period over the past decade. We are proud that Miami has been a staunch contributor to this deliriously delicious movement. This city has introduced Pincho Factory’s Toston Burger and Quesadilla Burger, Swine’s orgasmic Swine Burger and Eating House’s celestial Carbonara Burger. All these superb and unique creations are MUST-tries for legit burger aficionados and almost all were present at Burger Brawl.

The Miami ambassador and undisputed King of the burger scene is the Burger Beast. The Burger Beast is a sweet and affable blogger specializing in burgers and comfort food. He benevolently organized the first annual Burger Brawl at Magic City Casino where 20 of his favorite contenders grilled it out for burger supremacy. The event was sensational with unlimited tasty burgers, desserts, tater tots and liquor for only $50!!! It was the best dollar to foodgasm ratio we have ever witnessed at a food event.

The attendees were the judges and they voted Latin House’s Mad Love with a Twist concoction the champ. This people’s fave had a special sirloin brisket chuck blend topped with Provolone, Swiss, Mozzarella and BellaVitano Gold cheeses, applewood smoked maple glazed bacon, Irish butter grilled mushrooms and onions, Hass avocado, avocado lime and crema Mexicana sauce and candied jalapeño. While we thought this was a great burger it was not our top choice. Unfortunately, we could not sample every single burger this time around but he did try most of them. We will highlight a quadful of what we thought were the optimum.

Swine Southern Table & Bar unleashed its phenomenal Swine Burger which consists of a saliva inducing tri-meat patty of short rib, brisket, and smoked pork topped with thick-cut house-smoked bacon, American cheese and a special swine sauce. The patty was so freaking juicy, saturating our mouths with euphoric meat nectar. The star was the super thick cut bacon, with a sensational taste that complemented the tri-meat party splendidly. It is truly divine and won our vote for the best damn Brawl Burger.

Our second place winner went to Eating House’s Carbonara Burger for its decadently brilliant slant on burgers. Giorgio Rapicavoli, soon to be voted the sexiest chef in America, takes all the saucy goodness of pasta carbonara and slaps it on a black angus patty. He adds applewood smoked bacon, a fried egg, black truffle and then, like the heir to a comatosed billionaire would, smothers it with Fontina and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheeses. There are very few things we wouldn’t eat with this exquisite sauce lathered on it.

Third place went to Pincho Factory’s creative and quintessentially Miami Toston Burger. We always add french fries on top of our burgers because we love the potato flavor and extra crunchy texture. Pincho uses tasty, golden, crispy tostones as the bun for its chuck, brisket and short rib patty. They add jack cheese and cilantro sauce that would make any Gorda moan in delight.

OTC really impressed us with its New Mexico inspired Green Chili Cheeseburger. It was comprised of a flatiron-cooked patty with cheddar, green chili relish and sweet onion jam. We loved the sweet and spicy mix and are now looking forward to tasting more of this appetizing New Mexico cuisine.

On the dessert front, there were two dishes that captured our palates. HipPOPs brought a stellar Blood Orange Sorbet Pop that was the best we ever sucked on. It was served with whip cream but it didn’t even need it. This pop was so good we could have pounded a dozen, had we not eaten over a dozen burgers.

Marlie’s Delights took dessert to a whole nother level with her insanely debaucherous Maple Bacon Cake. She is a truly gifted baker who keeps the cake moist by infusing it with maple syrup and then tops it with sticky and smoky bacon for an awesome flavor. This dessert is splendidly balanced and meshed diametrical tastes and textures. The savory and sweet combo combined with the crunchy and soft texture made this a very special confection.

Burger Brawl was a superb foodie event that boasted incredible burgers, desserts and attendees at a profoundly reasonable price. The event was operated sensationally and was 4 hours long, which afforded people ample time to try everything they could possibly gorge on. We look forward to attending every future brawl and if you like burgers you should too.
