The National YoungArts Foundation’s (YoungArts) second of six YoungArts Salons will feature award winning actor, film director, and producer Robert Redford and environmental artist Sibylle Szaggars Redford on Wednesday, March 12 at 6:00pm at the YoungArts Campus in Miami. The discussion on art and activism will be moderated by John S. and James L. Knight Foundation’s Vice President/Arts, Dennis Scholl.

“YoungArts Salon provides artists and audiences an opportunity to participate in a rich dialogue about artistic practice, collaboration, and the cultural landscape. We are thrilled that one of our Master Teachers, Robert Redford, and Sibylle Redford, whose work The Way of the Rain will premiere here on the YoungArts Campus on March 11, will bring their combined artistic knowledge and passion to our Campus,” said Paul T. Lehr, President & CEO of the National YoungArts Foundation.

The YoungArts Salon series was launched through a grant from Knight Foundation. The discussion series brings together creative art luminaries and offers audiences an opportunity to engage with internationally recognized artists. The inaugural YoungArts Salon, which took place in December 2013, featured renowned performance artist Marina Abramović and filmmaker Matthu Placek as they discussed their collaborative work, and the premiere of A Portrait of Marina Abramović by Placek with moderator Cecilia Dean, Founder of V and Visionaire magazines.

Each Salon is accompanied by related blog posts on the YoungArts and Knight Foundation websites, www.youngarts.org and www.KnightArts.org.
