YogArt, South Florida’s unique addition to the world-renowned Art Basel weekend, returns to Wynwood Walls with new presenting sponsor jugofresh and new musical talent MC Yogi!

This pairing of Jivamukti yoga practice with the inspiring art at Wynwood Walls and live music offers everyone the opportunity to “Take a Breather During Basel”, and participate in an enhanced yoga experience during one of Miami’s busiest weekends of the year.

“One of the reasons we chose Wynwood Walls as our next location was specifically for wonderful events such as the YogArt festivities,” said Matthew Sherman, juice sommelier and founder of jugofresh. “At jugofresh, we are dedicated to healthy lifestyles and bold choices, so having this blend of art, music and health take place in our backyard proves that jugofresh is firmly planted in the most exciting destination in Miami.”

YogArt sessions are available during both the morning and early evening hours during Art Basel, and each class lasts approximately one hour. Each session will feature special introductory remarks from prominent members of the South Florida community, including Goldman Properties Chief Executive Officer Jessica Goldman, renowned collector Jason Rubell and Pérez Art Museum Miami Director Thomas Collins. Based out of Northern California, new talent MC Yogi’s vast and loyal fans are drawn to his upbeat tunes, with world beat, hip-hop, Bollywood, reggae, and dancehall influences, that he pairs with dazzling collage art made from photos of his own personal journeys through India. Lead by South Florida’s own Dawn B. Feinberg, a widely recognized certified yoga instructor and licensed movement therapist, sessions will also be accompanied by live music from world-recognized DJ Drez, known for his vast experience with the Jahta beat, Krishna Kishora Rico of The Mayapuris, healthy bites, cocktails, and more. Joining Feinberg will be special guest instructors Christy Nones McKenzie and Paul Toliuszis.

Since premiering during Art Basel 2009, Wynwood Walls, Miami’s open air “museum of the streets” has continued to attract visitors from around the world. Currently encompassing more than 40 dazzling, cutting edge murals created by respected street artists from Asia, Europe, Latin America and the United States, Wynwood Walls continues to evolve each year and has become one of Art Basel’s most sought after destinations. Headlining the vast array of programing for 2013 is an exhibit entitled “Women on the Walls.” Co-curated with arts guru Jeffrey Deitch,”Women on the Walls” will highlight nine, large scale original murals and a rare gallery exhibition presenting the works of international artists including: Lady Pink, Maya Hayuk, Swoon, Miss Van, Faith 47, Sheryo, Aiko, Claw Money, Fafi, Jess&Katie, Kashink, Myla, Shansia Hassani and Too Fly.

This colorful backdrop provides the perfect atmosphere for an energizing and uplifting yoga experience to prepare for the weekend’s Art Basel activities.
