Guitarist Travis Andrews and percussionist Andrew Meyerson are The Living Earth Show, a San Francisco-based classical duo, presenting dynamic performances of amplified, electro-acoustic contemporary chamber music. The duo returns to Miami to perform works by Samuel Carl Adams, Timo Andres, Adrian Knight and Jon Russell included on their new CD High Art released on Innova Records. Called “a vanguard effort of new chamber music” (San Francisco Examiner), “a much-sought-after presence on the indie-classical scene” (San Francisco Classical Voice), and “a fantastically distorted perpetual motion of awesome) (I Care If You Listen), The Living Earth Show is a prime San Francisco-based electro-acoustic ensemble. The Living Earth Show’s upcoming season includes performances of works written for the group by such composers as Samuel Carl Adams, Timo Andres, Adrian Knight, Luciano Chessa, Dan Becker, Chris Cerrone, Nick Vasallo, Andy Akiho, Ken Ueno, Jon Russell, and Damon Waitkus. The season will also feature the United States premiere of Brian Ferneyhough’s Renvoi/Shards, composed in 2008 for quartertone vibraphone and quartertone electric guitar.
Living Earth Show also makes an appearance at the Family Bonding Soundays series at Miami Children’s Museum on Sunday, October 27, 4-5PM. The duo will make music for and with the little participants. Join us!
