The United Nations Millennium Development Goals Service-Learning Program extends the opportunity for students to enhance and expand their education, professional and personal skills, understanding and knowledge about the realities of international issues that affect our surrounding community through service. It focuses on the awareness and understanding of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (UNMDG). The UNMDG are eight goals that were identified and agreed by the governments around the world in 2000 to tackle on the pressing global social issues and to accomplish them by 2015. Regardless if these goals are fully accomplished or not by 2015, it is an achievement already for one that the global community has identified the common goals and another that there has been strives already in all goals in working towards alleviating the social problems.
