MANO Fine Art invites you to the Opening Reception for the 2013 edition of “Made in the U.S.A”., an annual group exhibition that examines shifting boundaries between the origins of creativity and ingenuity and how they are influenced by contemporary American culture.

This year sixteen artist with ties to South Florida have been invited to collectively create an interpretive, visual perspective for viewers to reflect on what it means to be “made” in the U.S.A. a question that resonates even more poignantly in today’s environment. The message and the medium presented are as fluid and varied as the artists. The work presents an exciting and challenging gamut of artistic mastery ranging from classic Americana as interpreted by Jane Harris’ oil on canvas “638”; Carlos Stincer’s silk screen perfections “Made in China”; Ed Berounsky’s aluminum sculpture”Blue Woman”; MANO’s sculptural hybrid of re purposed objects, “Put A Lid On It”; and the project launch of “War Mammas” a powerful video installation by Patricia Figueroa Sowers.

The exhibition will open on Saturday, September 21st, 7-10 pm in conjunction with the Bird Road Art and will also feature a special performance by Invention Theater & Production Company —The Company’s two troupes—Negative Four Months and Always Cherish Cheese—will present a small showcase of short-form improve throughout the night.
