Special Olympics Florida-Miami Dade Celebrates Achievements of their Athletes and Dedication of their Coaches
MIAMI-DADE, FLORIDA – Special Olympics Florida, Miami-Dade County (SOMDC) will celebrate Eunice Kennedy Shriver Day by honoring their most deserving Athletes, Coaches, Volunteers and Supporters at their annual Sponsor an Athlete Awards Dinner. The event will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 7pm-11pm at the prestigious La Gorce Country Club, Miami Beach.
Premiere Special Olympics Sponsor Publix, Title Sponsor 123 LumpSum, Presenting Sponsor Wells Fargo Advisors and Media Partner Miami Herald are all event supporters. The event will be hosted by Miami Herald columnist and Pulitzer Prize winner Dave Barry. Those awarded will be introduced by documentary shorts produced by award winning film producer, Carl Kesser. Their stories show the far-reaching impact that one woman had and how others have been inspired to continue her work and dream.

Highlights of the night include a VIP cocktail reception with a silent auction, sit down dinner, live auction and dancing. Music will be powered by Spam Allstars.
Tickets for the Annual Awards Dinner are $350 and can be purchased online at www.specialolympicsflorida.org/awards. Each ticket sold will sponsor one Miami-Dade athlete for a full year of sports training and competition.
