Downtown Miami First Friday Art Walk

This new cultural initiative shines a light on the growing art community and collector market in Downtown Miami, bringing together non-profit arts organizations and local galleries for special exhibitions, artists open studios, exclusive openings, artist panel discussions.  The Art Walk is planned to be held the first Friday of every month January to June and October to December.

The “First Friday” Art Walk will showcase over 150 exhibiting artists offering an array of art experiences that will reflect multiple mediums, styles, and trends in the art world. Miami is the crossroads between three fabulous cultures- Central/South America/Caribbean, Europe and North America- so it is ideally located to bring together the best of these cultures.

Downtown Miami "First Friday" Art Walk a refreshing cultural initiative will serve as a cultural destination and economic engine in Miami’s Downtown active and vibrant urban community.

McCormick Place is a vibrant production-based event space featuring various well-known artists.  Currently, it houses nine artist studios belonging to Eleazar Delgado, Scottie Flamm, Virginia Erdie, Julie Ross, Karen Kim, Manuel Rodriguez, Ana Rossi, Scott Doyle and Eva Avila.  There is also a gallery space located on the first floor.  Sean McCormick, the curator behind the venue, describes it as "a place where any idea can come to life."

Curated by MDC MOAD curatorial intern, Natalie Perez, Transcending Narratives of Humanity observes the artists investigations relating to material and visual culture as a main vehicle of history and storytelling.

"Physical to Virtual" P2 V is a technical term describing the transfer of a physical server’s data to a virtual machine. 
Dimensions Variable is an exhibition space in the new Downtown Arthouse building located in Downtown Miami.  Their focus is to invite national and international artists to exhibit and discuss their work alongside locally based artists.  The Artist studios of Frances Trombly, Leyden Rodriguez-Casanova, and Adler Guerrier will be open during the First Friday Art Walk.
