VeritageMiami will bring together more than 3,000 wine and food lovers for four days of sipping, tasting, toasting and paddle-raising.  Headlining the four days of festivities are two Michelin-star chefs – Daniel Boulud, widely considered to be one of America’s leading culinary authorities, and Davide Brovelli of the family-owned Relais & Chateaux property on Italy’s Lake Maggiore.  Now in its 18th year, VeritageMiami, formerly known as the United Way Miami Wine & Food Festival, benefits United Way of Miami-Dade, which supports programs in the community that are focused on improving the education, financial stability and health of Miami-Dade residents.

Wynwood Walls is the home to VeritageMiami’s opening event, the Craft Beer Tasting presented by CBIZ. With vibrant murals as the backdrop for the evening, guests will “tap” into nearly 100 craft beers and micro-brews at dozens of tasting stations. Along with the brew, guests will sample bites from some of Miami’s top restaurants including Bloom, City Hall, the Daily Melt, Joe’s Stone Crab, Miccosukee Resort & Gaming, Oak Tavern, Pride and Joy, Shake Shack, Timó, Wynwood Kitchen & Bar, among many others.

Fine Wine Tasting, presented by Miccosukee Resort & Gaming.  While the event returns to a familiar location, this year’s edition offers many new elements.  Upon arrival, guests will be greeted with a glass of Pinot Grigio or Chianti from La Cacchiatora.  Adjacent to registration, guests will find the Domeniul Coroanei Segarcea “piazza” where the winery will pour its award-winning wines from VeritageMiami’s 2012 “Best in Glass Wine Challenge” among other treats.  The garden area will be transformed into a Martini & Rossi lounge in celebration of the brand’s 150th anniversary and feature the music of Spam All-Stars.  At the Celebrity Cruises’ kiosk, guests will have the opportunity to create their own custom spice rub.  Lining San Lorenzo Avenue will be more than 65 wine producers and importers displaying a collection of 300 wines from around the world, as well as top restaurants and caterers including Brasserie Central, Edge Steak & Bar, George’s Restaurant, Sawa, Trulucks, Tuyo, and many more. Guests will have the opportunity to mingle with wine producers and chefs, and share their experiences on Twitter for a chance to win great prizes. 
 
Also at the Fine Wine Tasting, top Miami chefs and culinary notables including Norman Van Aken, Linda Gassenheimer, Ingrid Hoffman, Bernie Matz and Allen Susser will be on hand to sign their cookbooks which will be available for purchase on-site through Books & Books.  All wines poured at the Fine Wine Tasting will be available for purchase.  Wine will also be served in various retail locations and guests that spend $100 or more at one of the participating stores will receive a complimentary bottle of wine.  At 5:30 p.m., members of Miami’s legal community will gather at Artefacto, for the Bilzin Sumberg fourth annual Associate Legal Mingle.

A restored 1940s Naval Air hangar is the stage for VeritageMiami’s final event, the Auction and Wine Dinner, presented by American Airlines and Orion Jet Center.  Guests will take a step back in time and enjoy a post World War II celebration, complete with vintage fighter planes, military vehicles and period cars.  The meal will take a completely different twist and feature the very modern cuisine of Chef Davide Brovelli of Il Sole di Ranco who will prepare a four-course Italian feast.  Throughout the evening, guests will also enjoy stunning auction lots, entertainment and award-winning wines from the Best in Glass Wine Challenge.
