The Brain Fair is a free educational event sponsored by the University of Miami at the Miami Science Museum. The Brain Fair is designed to teach children and their parents about how the brain and spinal cord functions. The children will get to participate in hands-on learning activities such as building a neuron from clay, dissecting and holding a real brain, playing with visual illusions and finding out if they are “super tasters.” Additional fun activities will include face painting and puppet shows about how the brain works. Free bike helmets will be given away and free bike helmet fittings will be available. There will also be lectures for adults given by University of Miami neuroscientists on topics such as which apps are best for kids to learn, signs of autism, and the best food choices for kids to eat to help their brains grow.
