Miami’s fashion scene will be in full speed when the highly successful, second-annual Miami Metropolitan International Fashion Week (MMIFW), hits Wynwood. Socialites, fashionistas, and VIP’s will be amerced in a three-day fashion extravaganza featuring daywear, eveningwear, and swimwear designers from around the world and special appearances and performances by celebrities, which in 2012 included Real Housewives of Miami star, Karent Sierra, and El Fashion Guru, Carlos Mejia.

MMIFW, a brainchild of co-founders Maxine Viktor and Philip Stienstra of PASA Event Productions, was created in 2012 to celebrate highly talented, yet little-know international and local designers, that needed a push to launch his/her brand. In its inaugural year, 17 designers from 11 countries including United States, Argentina, Brazil, Lebanon Russia, Saudi Arabia and Guatemala, were showcased. Many of whom, garnered great success after the event, including: evening gown designer, Abeyo & Marqz, who created Basketball Wives L.A. star, Malaysia Pargo, gown for the 2012 ESPY Awards; swimwear designer, Maya Swimwear, who has been featured in Sports Illustrated, Self magazine and Telemundo 51’s morning segment; and accessories designer Candy Woolley, who was featured on CNN Español and Univision and in US Weekly.

This year, MMIFW will raise the bar even higher, equipped with a new venue, new designers and technology-based interactive elements, which include LED lights and El Wire, making the runway a visually stimulating experience, with models and without.  “Our goal this year is to lead off of the success of the 2012 MMIFW, by creating a fashion installation that transcends all preconceived barriers of the fashion industry and opens the doors for little-known designers and models,“ says co-founder, Maxine Viktor, “In doing so, we believe fashion is just part of the experience.”
The 2013 lineup of swimwear, eveningwear and daywear designers will feature fashion-forward runway shows, performances, food and drink sponsors and after parties at high-end Wynwood locations. Designers showing include: Susan Panter, Pista a Jornada, Agragrami Fashion House, Model Mayhem, Dancing Dollsuk, Yadotsa and The Smooch Boutique.
