Miami-born LeNard Rutledge brings his robust vocals to Sweet Saloon, 7100 Biscayne, March 7, 9-12, in a soul-stirring evening of eclectic jazz. Often compared to legendary Lou Rawls, Rutledge’s silky voice is backed up by Miami musical heavyweights Mike Orta on keyboard, Don Wilner on bass, Abner Torres on drums, and a surprise special guest on sax. In response to the 2006 release of his first independent album, Hello World, the Miami New Times voted Rutledge Best Jazz Artist of the Year. Rutledge’s silky voice and classy elegance have made him one of the most sought-after vocal talents in contemporary jazz.

Lou-Lou Davila-Hagopian’s art comes from just plain down-to-earth music and amazing musicians playing hard, not to mention her Afro-Puerto Rican roots. She can best be described as a frustrated musician who paints music; she will be painting during the music, to capture LeNard’s work on canvas. Her works were recently chosen to be exhibited at the Miami Beach Arts Gala, where one painting served as cover art for the invitation and program, at the Stage Door Theater for a Christmas fund-raiser, Viernes Culturales, and at MaiArt night in the Design District.

Housed in Moonchine’s mezzanine is Miami’s best kept secret, The Sweet Saloon. This unique combination lounge and dessert bar is the perfect fusion of Dj’s spinning, Live music, Unique entertainment and Beautiful people. The saloons menu is perfect for those seeking after hour munchies. Here, food and drink aficionados are offered an array of sweet, salty, and spicy delicacies. Imagine devouring a Chocolate Bomb or delighting your senses with a Tuna Tataki, lightly grilled with some tangy Ponzu sauce. If you are wondering if this main-stream saloon is for the sweet or the spicy we suggest you check it out for yourself.
