Engage the Future, Celebrate Life, and Mindful of the Past:
“Winning Competition Designs for Rebuilding the Notre Dame de L’Assomption Cathedral, Port-au-Prince, Haiti” On View at Archbishop Curley Notre Dame Prep

Archbishop of Miami Thomas Wenski will open this exhibit recently held at the University of Miami School of Architecture. The community is welcome to attend the Opening Reception and the free exhibit runs through the end of March 2013. View the works of internationally awarded architecture teams who competed in a design competition initiated by the Archbishop of Port-au-Prince Mgr. Guyre Poulard to help build a new cathedral for the nation’s capital. In his petition, Mgr. Poulard stated: “The ideal design must engage the future and celebrate life. Still, it must be mindful of the past and memorialize the thousands who died and were injured in the earthquake of January 12, 2010.”
