S.T.A.R.S. School for Autism is a non-profit organization with a commitment to provide a tailored learning experience for children with autism. The primary mission of S.T.A.R.S. is to provide an individualized scientifically varied education to children with autism. Through partnerships with the community and families, our students receive an integrative and systemic approach to education, aimed to help children reach their optimal potential.

S.T.A.R.S School for Autism is one of the very few schools in the State of Florida to incorporate holistic methods as part of the schools curriculum and is the first school in Miami-Dade to offer early intervention to children with autism. This holistic approach is implemented through DAP Wellness’ C.H.E.S.S. (Children’s Holistic Educational Support Services) program which is designed to meet the specific educational, developmental and emotional needs of each and every S.T.A.R.S. student and family.

S.T.A.R.S. is playing an important role in helping children and families whose lives are impacted by Autism. This important work is supported largely by the support of generous donors and partners who contribute to our cause. Without the continued support of generous donors like; El Dorado, TD Bank, CAC Medical Centers, POSH Beauty Studio, and Cao Chocolates the mission of S.T.A.R.S would not be feasible. Without contribution from these remarkable organizations and others, the financial resources that are unavoidably necessary to maintain the level of excellence we have achieved in education and environment for our students will likely go unmet.

S.T.A.R.S. is still working to reach its yearly philanthropic goal. We need help from the community in order to continue providing much needed services to low-income families in our community who are in need of assistance. In order to continue making a difference in the lives of individuals affected by the work of S.T.A.R.S. School for Autism, it is vital for us to meet this goal.

Join us on Friday, November 30, 2012 as S.T.A.R.S. School for Autism will be giving thanks and celebrating the advances made in the education and wellness of our students, at the 2nd Annual “Giving Thanks to the Different Colors of Autism.” The evening will begin at 6:00pm at the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum at Florida International University, and will feature open galleries, food & drink, music, a raffle, a silent auction with prizes such as; a makeover at POSH Beauty Salon, tickets to see the Miami Heat, an inclusive trip to the 2013 Emmy Awards, and more! There will also be a very special surprise that will feature the students of S.T.A.R.S. displaying their many colors! A minimum donation of $25.00 per person will be collect upon entrance.
All proceeds for this event will go to support the education and therapies of the S.T.A.R.S. students. For more information on our program and contact information can be found on our website: www.starsautism.org.
