and help end childhood hunger at nationwide pop-up event experience

WHEN:
Thursday, November 15
11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

WHERE:
Bayside Marketplace (By Main Entrance Flag Area)
401 Biscayne Boulevard
Bayside Marketplace
Miami, FL 33132

WHAT:
As the DoubleTree by Hilton Little Things Project travels across the country to ask people the “little things” that would make a difference when they travel and surprise consumers with some of those “little things,” this holiday season the brand is offering people a chance to give a little something back. DoubleTree has partnered with Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry® campaign to encourage little acts that make a big difference to help end child hunger. As part of the nationwide tour, for every person who attends a Little Things Project tour event between November 1 and November 30 and takes the Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry® pledge, DoubleTree by Hilton will donate $1 to the No Kid Hungry® campaign*.

Anyone unable to attend the events in person can visit www.facebook.com/doubletree and take the pledge on the Little Things Project tab. One dollar can help connect a child to up to 10 meals.

GIVE A LITTLE, GET A LITTLE
In addition to helping connect children in need to meals and help end childhood hunger, event attendees will get a few “little things” that consumers told us would make traveling a bit brighter, such as:
•Free DoubleTree by Hilton signature chocolate chip cookies – our brand’s legendary icon for warm and welcoming service;
•Free WiFi lounge and Plug-In station where visitors can take a moment to charge cell phones and more;
•Local deals and offers, to provide locals and travelers exclusive bargains while they’re traveling in the city; in Miami, event-goers will receive discount coupons to Jungle Island, Miami’s zoological, interactive theme park, plus $5 Holiday Gift Cards from Publix (while supplies last);
•And DoubleTree by Hilton will continue to listen and deliver those “little things” event attendees are telling us would brighten their days as the tour makes its way from city to city.

In addition to the event experience, Little Things Project ambassadors will be driving a “Swarm Car” throughout the city, asking travelers via Twitter what “little things” would make their holiday travel brighter and surprising some lucky people by fulfilling their request. Need a few supplies for your Thanksgiving Day gathering? A little help covering those pesky airline baggage fees? Consumers can tweet to @DoubleTree with their requests using #LittleThings for the Swarm Car to turn their request into a reality.

People can also follow the journey and submit new “little things” by visiting the DoubleTree by Hilton Facebook Page. Here people can also enter the Little Things Project Sweepstakes to win instant prizes and a $25,000 dream vacation getaway. Additionally, consumers can get an inside peek at tour stops through Instagram using #LittleThings, as well as follow the tour on Twitter (www.twitter.com/doubletree) and YouTube (www.youtube.com/doubletreehotels).

WHY:
DoubleTree by Hilton believes it’s the “little things” that add up to make a great travel experience. The concept isn’t new to DoubleTree by Hilton, which strives to offer the little things that mean everything at more than 300 hotel destinations in 25 countries worldwide.

Since January, the DoubleTree by Hilton Little Things Project has created conversations with travelers via Twitter and Facebook, asking what “little things” would make their travel experience better. Based on responses from over 5,000 consumers – and counting – DoubleTree by Hilton will provide each community with some of the “little things” they requested. Travelers and the general public may visit each tour stop and enjoy the “little things” – or just take a moment to relax from the day’s activities.

WHO:
The Little Things Project team and Miami DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel team members.

*DoubleTree will donate $1 to the No Kid Hungry campaign for every pledge taken between November 1 and November 30th, up to a maximum of $25,000. Gifts made to Share Our Strength and the No Kid Hungry Campaign represent a gift to our organizational mission and will be used to reach the highest number of children facing hunger in America. Share Our Strength does this by combining your gift with others to address child hunger community by community, state by state. Your gift will leverage the time, expertise, and additional funds needed to end childhood hunger once and for all.
