This year’s edition of Magic on the Bay kick off on Friday November 23rd with the fundraiser “Lobster Feast Under the Stars”, a casual, but fantastic dinner party at the HVKBP outdoor VIP Pavillion. The entertainment for the evening will be provided by world-renowned artists Carlos Oliva y los Sobrinos del Juez. Saturday November 24th kicks off with the Rowing Races, Dragon boat Races and Fishing Tournament at the Miami Rowing & Watersports Center. “Noche Tropical”, a fundraising event that will feature a concert by beloved artist Willy Chirino. Sunday rolls around with the Kayak / Stand up Surf Ski Races and the long awaited  “Smokin on the Bay” Pig Roast Competition.

Virginia Key Beach Park was established in 1945 as the only beach for the “exclusive use of Negroes” in Miami Dade County. Its rich history earned it a place in the National Register of Historic Places. The park is managed by The Virginia Key Beach Park Trust, which organizes community fundraising events and activities to provide revenues for the operation and restoration of Historic Virginia Key Beach Park.  Since its creation in 2001, the Trust has raised more than $35 million for the restoration and operation of the Historic Beach Park. These renovations have transformed the once deserted beach into a thriving public recreation venue and regional cultural attraction.

“Through the years since the park’s reopening, we have held many events and taken many initiatives to continue generating revenues for the park,” said Guy Forchion, Executive Director of the Virginia Key Beach Park Trust, “this time we decided to hold an event that would be fun and exciting for families and showcase Historic Virginia Key Beach Park.”

The Historic Virginia Key Beach Park Holiday Fair will be open from November 23rd from noon to 11 pm and November 24th and 25th from 10 am to 11 pm. Entrance to the beach park is located at 4020 Virginia Beach Drive (turn left at the traffic light, across from the Miami Seaquarium). Admission to the Fair is free and open to the public with unlimited rides wristbands for only $25.   There will be a $6 per car entry fee.
