Event to Honor Joseph Adler, Ana Bolt and Jaie LaPlante

MiamiARTzine, the online magazine that serves as the Voice of the Miami Arts Scene, will celebrate its 7th anniversary at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden on Monday, November 19 at 6:30 pm.

A highlight of the evening is the presentation of the 5th Annual miamiARTzine Visionary Awards, so named for the ability of the honorees to think outside the box and envision and work toward a better Arts landscape. This year’s award recipients are Joseph Adler, Producing Artistic Director of GableStage at the Biltmore; Choreographer/Dancer Ana Bolt; and Jaie LaPlante, Director of Miami International Film Festival.

In keeping with the Salsa theme, KCC Productions presents a lively mélange of music, including two-time Grammy nominee Marlow Rosado and La Riqueña, the Kiki Sanchez Trio and Grammy-nominated artist Thania Sanz with special guest, trumpeter Julian Cifuentes. The celebration also features a silent auction, with tickets to many of South Florida’s exciting arts venues.

Venezuelan-born artist and miamiARTzine supporter Maria Rivas is the featured artist at the event, and her artwork will be on display throughout.

Sponsors for the event include Bolivar Fusion de Cocinas Tragos, KCC Productions, Miami Beach Botanical Garden, My Ceviche and We Take the Cake.

MiamiARTzine is a program of the Miami Beach Arts Trust, whose mission is to raise awareness and educate the public about the importance of the Arts. Publisher and Miami Beach Arts Trust chair Harvey J. Burstein conceived the idea of an online publication to better serve South Florida’s arts community and arts lovers.

Each issue of miamiARTzine contains original articles, reviews and photographs by local writers and photographers who volunteer their time and talent to inform readers about what is happening in the arts in South Florida. miamiARTzine has also served as a career conduit for these contributors, as many of its writers and photographers have been tapped for other assignments based on their work being seen, or the contacts they’ve made through the publication.

The miamiARTzine 7th Anniversary party takes place on Monday, November 19 at 6:30 pm at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden, 2000 Convention Center Drive. Tickets for the reception are $20 in advance, or $25 at the door, with all proceeds to benefit the Miami Beach Arts Trust.
