Local artists represent the Miami community in Semi-Finals competition
RAW:Miami announces the 33 local nominees contending to represent the Miami community in the 4th annual RAWards Semi-Finals competition.
Over the course of the past two weeks the RAW:natural born artists organization hosted an online nomination process for 10,000 independent artists across the globe. The online popular vote with a local Showcase Director weigh in narrowed down the top 3/5 artists to represent Miami in the Semi-Finals Showcase.
Award categories include;
RAW:Miami Filmmaker of the Year
RAW:Miami Fashion Designer of the Year
RAW:Miami Musician(s) of the Year
RAW:Miami Visual Artist of the Year
RAW:Miami Photographer of the Year
RAW:Miami Hairstylist of the Year
RAW:Miami Makeup Artist of the Year
RAW:Miami Performing Artist of the Year
the local community will be asked to cast a live vote at the Semi-Finals Showcase. The community popular vote will consist of 50% and the scores of three local judges (James Echols, Roberto Somoza, and Nany Ramirez) will consist of the other 50%.
Scores and votes will be tallied that evening and announced live at the end of the showcase. The final 9 winners will go on to represent Miami in the last and final round of national judging on November 18th 2012.
The national RAWards winners receive big career boosting prizes like distribution, store placement, studio time, gallery placement and consultation with industry executives and professionals.
