“Do Good at Wood” to Help Miami’s Foster Children Receive the Care they Deserve
Wynwood’s Wood Tavern hosts popular Sunday Backyard Boogie to benefit Foster Care Review

Wynwood’s hip Wood Tavern will host their hugely popular Sunday Backyard Boogie on August 12, 2012, to benefit Foster Care Review (FCR), an organization that helps the Juvenile Court provide oversight for the welfare of over 4,000 Miami-Dade children in foster care. Dubbed by the Miami Herald as a place with “a cool atmosphere reminiscent of a speakeasy you would stumble upon in San Francisco or New York,” Wood Tavern is one of the hottest places to go in the Wynwood Arts District of Miami.

A $20 donation to FCR will get you FREE beer and summer cocktails from 3 pm to 4 pm at the event. Helping Miami’s foster children receive the care they need and deserve—while enjoying cocktails with friends on a Sunday afternoon? You can’t beat that deal! The event is open to the public, so bring your friends and family for an afternoon of fun.

Foster Care Review Inc. (FCR) helps the Juvenile Court provide oversight for the welfare of over 4000 Miami-Dade children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse and neglect and are under the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Court. FCR volunteers conduct review hearings to monitor the safety, wellbeing and progress to permanency of these children. It is the job of Foster Care Review and its dedicated volunteers to provide judges with information they need to make sound decisions regarding the future of foster children.
