The Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce will host its annual City Beautiful Awards during the Good Morning Coral Gables Breakfast.

Each year, the City Beautiful Awards celebrate the aesthetic beauty and singular charm found only in Coral Gables. Sponsored by the City of Coral Gables and presented in partnership with the Chamber, the City Beautiful Awards are presented by the Chamber each year to celebrate the most outstanding examples of architectural achievement among our commercial properties.

The finalists have been announced in the following three categories:

Finalists – Outstanding Interior Award
Capital Bank, Kendar Office Building, La Piazza Academy, Miami Association of Realtors, Platinum Business Center, Right Space 2 Meet, The Alhambra Towers, Total Bank
Finalists – Outstanding Exterior Award
334-336 Miracle Mile, 396 Alhambra Circle, Apollo Bank, Northern Trust, “The Building on Ponce”
Finalists – Outstanding Retail Showroom / Restaurant Dining Room Award
Avant Garde Salon & Spa, Cibo Wine Bar, The Dome Restaurant, Violetas

This year’s award ceremony will also honor Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre with the Outstanding Historic Preservation Award. The theatre is one of the leading regional performing arts companies and serves as a center of community cultural activity.

“Actors’ Playhouse is thrilled to be part of a model private/public partnership with the City of Coral Gables, owner of The Miracle Theatre, and to have renovated and restored the historic facility into a three-stage perforating arts center in downtown Coral Gables. One of Miami-Dade County’s 22 major cultural institutions, and the producer of award-winning theatre for adults and children, the rebirth of the Miracle Theater in 1995 saved the historic site from being sold to big box retail and was the major catalyst for the redevelopment of the downtown district,” said Barbara Stein, Co-founder & Executive Producing Director of Actors’ Playhouse.

“Each year, it is our Chamber’s distinct honor to recognize outstanding commercial buildings in our City Beautiful,” said Mark A. Trowbridge, president & CEO of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce. “Coral Gables has always been a leader in architectural design and is renowned for its charm and sophistication – and we believe it is our duty to recognize the best of the best among our commercial properties!”

The City Beautiful Award has previously been bestowed on such outstanding commercial properties such as: University of Miami – Newman Alumni Center for Outstanding Exterior Design; Coral Gables Country Club for Outstanding Historic Preservation, and Seasons 52 for Outstanding Restaurant/Dining Room.

The Good Morning Coral Gables breakfast will also feature keynote speaker Elise Vasquez-Warner, Regional Manager & Vice President of South Florida at Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. Elise oversees approximately 40,000 associates and 130 stores. Her responsibilities include vendor partnerships, talent development, budget management, and business development.
